August 2011 — "This pub / sports' bar is a trendy little spot. It seems to be in the middle of nowhere (well, it is on Edmonton Trail, but not a busy commercial area), but when you walk in, it is really busy! (every time I've been!)
I had a Tex Mex burger with two beef patties. It was delicious. I like how they put the cheese and jalapenos on top of both burgers (so there was deliciousness hidden between the two patties!) The crinkle-cut sweet potato fries on the side were awesome, especially with the spicy aioli sauce for dipping. The sauce is finger licking good! (and the crinkles are perfect for holding lots of dip!) One thing I didn't like is that when I asked for some hot sauce on the side, they brought me a little tiny cup of it and charged me for it! Next time I'm bringing my own!
Another bad thing was that the first time I tried to eat here with my girlfriend, UFC was on so they were charging cover.
Since Nixx is only a few blocks from my house, it's convenient to go for a burger and a pint to watch a baseball game, or catch the sports' highlights."

December 2010 — "Nixx is a great little neighborhood pub that is usually busy with a friendly atmosphere and awesome food and drink specials every night of the week. My girlfriend and I went on a Tuesday to grab a bite to eat and a few pints. It was "Pizza Night", which meant you could order any 14" pizza on their menu for $14.99! It's a really good deal because the pizzas are delicious with tons of toppings and a unbeatable crust. We ate a few pieces each and took the rest home. Pints of Big Rock were also on special for $5. You really can't go wrong! It was busy, but our server did a GREAT job. She even brought a sample of Big Rock's new beer over for us to try when we weren't sure whether we would like it or not! They have a decent pool table and TV's for showing the games. Great pub with exceptional food and drink. Awesome hangout spot! "

"Busy little pub with great food! "

September 2010 — "Nixx is right in my neighbourhood, so an old friend of mine and I went to check it out. We really like to play pool and I knew they had a table. Located on Edmonton Trail, it was already bustling when we got there at 6pm on a Wednesday. They had pints on special and wings for $0.35 each. They were a really good size and were served quite quickly! Our server was a lot of fun and always seemed to be there when we needed something. For my meal, I ordered the greek salad and it was absolutely AMAZING! The veggies were vibrant, fresh and crisp. It tasted very authentic and the serving was very generous. It was loaded with feta cheese and kalamata olives. Who would have expected such a great salad at a little neighbourhood pub??? The place was packed by 7pm, and we stayed for another hour for some pool and a few more pints. The beer was delicious! The atmosphere was great and lively, the service fast and friendly, and the food extremely satisfying! I would definitely return, even it if wasn't so close to me. "

"Neighbourhood Pub"

December 2008 — "I have dined at Nicastro's on several occasions and have always left feeling satisfied. This pub is definitely a neighbourhood pub and you can tell that most of the clientele are regulars. The menu is filled with items like homemade pastas, appetizers, pizzas, burgers, wraps and other delicious food. I have become a big fan of the burger with bacon, mushroom and cheese, served with onion rings, but I have on occasion had the tortellini, a pizza or the appetizer platter. I have never had any real complaints about this pub, the food has always met my expectations.
The best part of this pub is that the service is always very good. I can't remember a time when the server wasn't asking if I needed anything else. In fact, even if my server is busy, I am impressed that all the servers seem to help each other out. Another nice thing is that they have a huge selection of beers in the bottle, as well was several brews on tap!
Nicastro's is definitely a great little find and I will definitely be back in the near future."

"I Can't Stop Going Back!"

September 2008 — "I have been a fan of Nicastro's for about a year or so. Before that I didn't even know it existed although I have lived in this neighbourhood for years. It's the epitome of a neighbourhood pub... it is filled with regulars and first-timers of all ages. The menu is filled with a wide selection of tasty treats - like homemade pastas, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. I have tried the appetizer platter, which was okay, but the best things on the menu in my opinion are the burger loaded with mushrooms, cheese and bacon (so juicy!) served with onion rings, the tortellini with rose sauce and then baked and most recently I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich, but had them put it in a wrap. It was sooo good.
They also have tons of bottled beers in a huge fridge behind the bar, as well as beers on tap. The service has always been superb, those girls really know what they're doing.
I'm glad I found out that this place existed, I can't keep from going back at least every couple of weeks!"
