December 2009 — "This restaurant is conveniently located on 17th Avenue and has a restaurant and a very large lounge. We ate at this restaurant for dinner on Boxing day. We arrived there just after 6pm and it was not busy at all. Obviously we were seated immediately. The restaurant has a very modern and warm feeling décor. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well kept. Our waitress was of average service. No complaints. The menu was quite large with a lot of selection. I ordered the wood oven baked bbq chicken pizza and a ‘Field of Dreams’ drink. The drink was a type of cranberry martini. It was very tasty. The pizza was very good. The crust was just right. Not too thick but not too crispy. The ingredients were all very fresh. The menu prices were average but the pizza was actually quite large and I ended up with half of it to take home. I would recommend this restaurant and the pizza if you are in the area as I was satisfied with the food and service."

October 2009 — "Melrose is the place to hang out. My girlfriends and I love the whole concept. It has a restaurant, an outdoor patio and 3 levels in the bar!!! Love the weekends!!! The food is always delicious and service is superb! You need to check it out if you haven't been!"

April 2007 — "In celebration of another “Ladies Night” a few of my girlfriends and I decided to hit up Melrose Café and Bar. It was great. We started on the restaurant side with a light snack of innovative salads and finger foods and worked our way over to the lounge later that evening. The food was great, and I was especially impressed with the service on the lounge side. A waitress found us just as we were sitting down, which was nice considering how busy it was in there. Aside from the pricey menu everything was a hit. We had a great time and I would definitely visit it again for both eats and drinks! "

April 2007 — "I watched a Flames playoff game at Melrose yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it (even though the Flames lost). The atmosphere, the staff and the food were great. I had the Chicken Club flat bread sandwich, which was fresh, tasty and filling. What a nice way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon."

August 2006 — "I happened to be at Melrose twice in one short visit to Calgary. There can be a long line-ups to get into the bar but the restaurant has the same menue and drinks. The food was pretty good. A bit above average with a normal selection of burgers, pastas and pizzas. Their goat cheese dip was a nice appetizer. For drinks, they had Hoegaarden on tap (which can be a rare find in some cities) and a varied selection of martinis. They didn't have much for teas which makes me think Calgarians don't drink tea. (This wasn't the first place that looked at us strange for ordering tea instead of coffee). It had good casual sports bar atmosphere so if that's what you're looking for, it would be a good choice since it seems like this place is always busy. "
