September 2008 — "Situated on Government Street, in the heart of downtown Victoria, B.C., Ric's Grill is a business that should be on the 'have to visit list'. Not to be confused with a family restaurant chain with a similar name, this far surpasses its rather bland name. The decor is flashy and modern in taupe, brown, black, and lots of glass. The washrooms are elegant as well with bowl sinks, and a choice of a small cloth towel or paper for drying. Our server was a pleasant, friendly young man who took plenty of time for us without being too present. The luncheon menu gave many choices in sandwiches, pasta, beef dishes, as well as several vegetarian choices. My pick was a ham and brie sandwich on lightly toasted french bread. An unusual ingredient was the cranberry mayonnaise- delicious. The sandwich came with a choice of soup, fries, or three different salad choices. I chose the field greens and yogurt/dill dressing. It was of an appropriate size, and very fresh. A cup of full flavored coffee completed a delicious meal. The luncheon menu prices here were very reasonable. This was one of the best places we visited on our holiday."
