October 2010 — "Hermann's is a real come as you are venue that offers the sacred dinner-live music combo. Dress in a ball gown or jeans and a t-shirt and no one will really notice the difference. The atmosphere is dark and casual, and somehow through its understated laissez fairness it pulls off a hint of sophistication--must be the perfect stage to sitting room set-up. There is a small dance space at the back and people often squeeze into the front, but on an average night, it's more of a seated venue. That said, you'll make the musicians plenty happy if you get up and boogie. Food wafting by always smells delicious, but if you hesitate too long in ordering, you can always pick off the appetizer menu, offered after supper hour comes to a close. It's reasonably priced and there is no skimping on nacho fixin's. A small cover fee usually applies to noteworthy shows ($5-$10) and it's a great place to catch both up-and-coming, as well as established artists. Be nice to the bartender; she's very overworked. A must-visit in Victoria."
