"Best Wings in Town!"

October 2009 — "The Regal Beagle South is my favourite destination for Wednesday Wing Night. They have a great selection of wings, my favourite being their signature Beagle wings. I don't know what they put on those wings, but they are phenomenal. The wings are always big and meaty, not those puny fatty wings that pubs sometimes serve. I have tried the salad with the pita chips in it and while it is a fairly simple dish, it is very tasty. I have also tried their potato skins and was very impressed with them. The service is always great, despite the pub being filled to capacity on Wednesday nights. The restaurant itself is quite small and cluttered with all kinds of random items. It has a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. The only thing I don't like so much about the Beagle is the chairs - they are old and sunken and really not very comfortable. But sitting in an uncomfortable chair is a small price to pay to enjoy the best wings in town."

"Pretty good!"

October 2009 — "We were shopping in the south and were in need of some pub grub on a Saturday afternoon when we happened to see the Regal Beagle South location. I was not aware that they had this location, but it was right by the Rona we were shopping at. The place was empty, in fact there were probably about seven people in it total. I guess it was only 1:30pm though. It had a nice pub atmosphere though. At first I think we were being served by some kind of manager because she was dressed in some kind of suit, but she greeted us quickly and we ordered some hot salt and pepper wings to start. They came fast and we devoured them since they were delicious. For an entree I ordered about their lunch specials menu - the baked spaghetti. My wife ordered the beef dip. It took 20-30 minutes between finishing our wings and getting our entrees. It was very annoying and I actually mentioned to this to our server. I have no idea why it took so long, as the place was empty, but when they eventually arrived everything was delicious."

"MMMMMMM.... Wings!"

February 2009 — "My most recent visit to Regal Beagle was for a friend's birthday and it just happened to be on a Wednesday - one of the pub's three wing night. My biggest qualm with the Regal Beagle is the parking, or lack of, but on this particular occasion we drove in and there was a parking attendant directing us where to park. We got a great spot. When we got inside it was completely packed. Thank goodness our friend was saving us some spots because there weren't any to be found. We ordered some wings to start and they were very delicious. I'm pretty convinced that the Regal Beagle has some of the best wings in the city. Our server was extremely attentive. She was always present and even offered to separate our bill. I cannot complain about the service in the least. For dinner I ordered the steak sandwich, which was pretty good. I can't lie though, I go to the Beagle for the wings and their beers on tap... not the entrees."

"Decent Wings"

November 2008 — "I went to the Regal Beagle on 14th street for their 25 cent wings. It's not the best deal in the city for wings, but they were good. We ordered salt and pepper wings and teriyaki. Both flavours were great. The waitress was friendly and the service was good."

"Give the Beagle a Break"

December 2007 — "I have to disagree with the past couple of reviews. I have been a "regular" at the Beagle for a couple of years now. I keep going back because of the excellent service, the delicious wings, and the reasonable prices. In addition to all of this, the crowd that fills the Beagle on a nightly basis is a refreshing mix of SAIT students (which is stumbling distance from the pub), oldish regulars like me and my husband, and the odd passer-by. It truly is a "neighborhood pub". "

June 2007 — "i went to the 14th street NW location and the food was ok, the wings were average but this place is really DIRTY and the bathrooms are disgusting! the service was truly deplorable even considering the poor service in calgary in general right now. also, they allow their regulars to smoke on one side of the patio which is ridiculous. i would never even consider going there again."

"Won't go Back !!"

September 2006 — "I didn't like the "We're doing you a favour to serve you" attitude from the staff. Debit card use will charge you $0.25 per transaction . I can understand where the nickname; "the Dirty Beagle" came from. Either the dirty tables & washrooms, (which never have soap or paper in them !), or the fact the staff is so rude & FAKE !! It's all about taking your money > so obvious with the fake smiles & PLASTIC ATTITUDES ! The wings are good, but at $0.25 cents one can find much cheaper wings in Calgary & the "Beagle" is very strict on ONLY serving TEN WINGS per drink ordered, and non-alchoholic drink prices double on Wing Nights ! I prefer to spend my money with owners & staff who appreciate my patronage and are not only trying to extract as much money from me as possible !"

"A Great Place for Wings!"
Image

Save Review

July 2006 — "When I am craving delicious wings, the first place that comes into my mind is the Regal Beagle. For years I have frequented the Beagle to gorge myself on honey garlic, hot or my favorite - salt and pepper wings with hot sauce and ranch on the side. The rest of the menu is typical pub fare and is consistently good. The ambience is unique, with old signs and items jam-packed in every corner. To top it all off, wing night happens three times a week (Mon, Wed & Sat). The patio is a great place to sip (or guzzle) a cold brew."

"Mmmm......wings & beer"

July 2006 — "Sometimes I just get a craving for greasy meat and cold beer. And Regal Beagle has both. Almost every night of the week (except Fridays) you can get 25 cent wings or pork ribs. There are all of the standard flavours (hot, honey garlic, BBQ, teryaki) to choose from, plus the "Beagle sauce", which is deliciously tangy and savoury. Pair that with a cold pint of Stella Artois and I am very, very happy."

"Not Necessarily Regal..."

Save Review

December 2005 — "If you asked what the typical Canadian pub was like, I'd give you the Regal Beagle as an example. Both locations are small, fairly smokey, and have lots of tacky junktiques adorning the walls and ceiling. There are TVs playing some kind of sport and they are always busy. And it is the perfect place to go for wings and riblets. Maybe even the best place to go for wings and riblets. It really is nothing fancy, but that's what's so great about the Regal Beagle. It's down to earth, not pretention, you get what you came for: beer and snacks."
