June 2010 — "I love Vietnamese Food! And the best Vietnamese restaurant that I have been to in Victoria is Kim’s! It is located on Johnson Street, behind the Odeon theater. The food is amazing, it is fresh and flavorful. The fried rice is the best I have ever had, the lettuce wraps and peanut dipping sauce is incredible, and the pork is perfectly cooked, oh and the noodle soup is delicious! The restaurant is run by a small Vietnamese family and they have great service. The food is served fast and hot. A group of us from work often go there and reserve a table at lunch for about 10, and they happily take our reservation and make sure that there is room for us when we arrive ( the restaurant itself is very small, about 15 tables). The place is clean and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. The only thing that is a little ‘behind the times’ is that the debit machine runs off of the same connection as the phone, so you cant pay by debit of someone is on the phone or vice versa, it is a little inconvenient. If you like Vietnamese you will love Kim’s, we will be back again soon!"

"Best Vietnamese I've tried in town..."

April 2008 — "Kim’s Vietnamese
We’ve tried a few Vietnamese restaurants in Victoria, and as of now, Kim’s is my favorite. We were craving Vietnamese, so I went online to check for other people’s recommendations. Someone had recommended Kim’s no-frills approach to Vietnamese, and that sounded right up my alley. Kim’s is located in the lower rent section of upper Johnson, which was a good sign. At least we new they wouldn’t be serving over-priced, trendy dishes to cash in a tourist money. I ordered the #17, Rice Vermicelli with seafood and pork spring rolls and BBQ meatballs, for $8.95. My wife ordered the #13, Rice Vermicelli with grilled pork, shredded pork, spring rolls and vegetables, for $9.95. We had a brief discussion on how our meals would cost at least a dollar each less at our favorite places in Calgary, and before we were done, our meals were there. Fast service, fresh food, and we both decided it was the best Vietnamese we’ve tried in Victoria. We’re still on the lookout for something that stacks up to our old faves, but for now Kim’s will be our default Vietnamese spot in Victoria. Give it a try."
