January 2012 — "My husband and I visited Bartholomew's on a whim. We hadn't heard of it before because if you don't actually know about it, it is hard to find at the bottom of the Executive House hotel. Heading downstairs and a little wary of what we would find, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was not in the basement, but street level. There is a large u-shaped bar held up by silver-haired gentlemen who may have been there all afternoon. It reminded us of a typical pub you'd see in the United Kingdom, complete with well-used chairs, wooden tables and wood furnishings and stained glass. The menu features typical pub grub with some usual British suspects such as fish and chips and shepherd's pie. I had oysters on the half shell and they were perfectly fresh, followed by a grilled salmon burger with a tossed salad. The salmon was well-done and probably drier than it needed to be, but I was impressed with my salad, which was nothing special but it was fresh and used romaine lettuce instead of iceburg. All in all, it hit the spot and the price was right. My husband had a double burger and it was definitely from frozen. But he enjoyed it well enough and again the price was right. We arrived at 7pm and the place was almost empty. By the time we left at 9, there were people vying for our seats and this place was packed. A live band was about to get the place rockin'. Drink prices are really good here too. I should also mention our server. She was an efficient, friendly and no-nonsense--perfect for a pub. We will definitely return for a relaxed meal."

December 2011 — "This bar screams fun! We went on a night with live music, Rock of Ages, playing music from every decade since the 1950's. We went to hang out with friends, and it was a blast. However, the bar was overly crowded. We ordered a plate of wings for $10, and there were not enough wings on that plate to have cost that much. The cocktails however, we're very good. I'll definitely be going back on another show night."
