September 2008 — "Murrieta’s Westcoast Grill is on the second floor just off one of Canmore’s main streets. There is a very airy and open feeling as the ceilings are over 20 feet high. The décor is modern rustic. Large dark wood built-ins house many bottles of wine. The windows stretch the front and the length of the restaurant, giving wonderful views of the Rocky Mountains. The linens are crisp and white. The service was wonderful. We were seated immediately at a table near the window. The menu was very adventurous, with many different combinations. I had a cup of hearty beef vegetable soup and a chicken baby romaine salad. My husband had the glazed salmon and my in-laws both had the Portobello mushroom burger. Our food was preceded by bread and our wine. Our waiter came by to fill our water glasses regularly. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. After our meal we sat and took in the beautiful view. Our total bill was just over $80, including our wine. I would recommend Murrieta’s Westcoast Grill to anyone looking for a relaxed, but diverse meal. Murrieta’s is better suited for adults."
