October 2011 — "Food, Ambience, Service and Staff... Just Wonderful! First thing first, food was absolutely delicious. They also have freshly squeezed juices and actually good coffee. My sister and I went there twice, for breakfast and lunch. As soon as you walk in, you just feel cozy. It had an old school charm, and the walls and shelves had many interesting things on them. Service was quick and very friendly. Their staff easily made everything flow naturally and put all the customers at ease. I would recommend this delicious little place to anyone. "

December 2010 — "I had heard about this place from several people about how great their breakfasts were. In fact, a couple years ago when I stayed in Banff we tried to go there but it was too packed to get in. I don't know if it has gotten a little bit worse or what, but our experience was not AMAZING, but it wasn't poor either. I just don't think that it lived up to the rave reviews. I got the Mountain Man Breakfast, which came with two eggs, two pancakes, bacon and potatoes. It was definitely edible and was tasty, but it wasn't like I had to tell everyone to go there afterwards. The service was very good and the breakfast burrito I tasted off my wife's plate was good. The atmosphere was also nice and casual, which I liked. All in all it was a pretty good experience, but I expected something spectacular so I truly was disappointed after the over two year anticipation about dining there. "

August 2010 — "This was the best restaurant that we went to for breakfast on our 5 days in Banff. Always a good sign of any restaurant, the place was very busy and seemed to be each time that we walked by. We were able to get a nice seat out on the sidewalk, which was perfect.
Our waitress did a good job, but not outstanding... she really was not interested in doing much more than serving our food (I just feel that someone working in a tourist-driven economy such as Banff should be a bit more outgoing, is that too much to ask for?)
I had a southwestern fritata, which had great fresh flavors. The portions were large and were very fairly priced. They also have a very nice chipoltle sauce on the tables, which I am now actively looking to find at specialty food marts. I forget what my friend had, but we were both sincerely satisfied with our meals and will go back again.
I highly recommend this spot, just don't be in a rush to get in; remembering it is a good sign!"

October 2007 — "This is my favourite place for breakfast in Banff. Apparently I am not the only one who likes it, as there is a pretty much always a line up on weekends.
I think it is the attention to ingredients that sets them apart , like free range eggs and Valbella Meats bacon. Yet, their prices are still very low for the volume and quality you get. On my last trip there, I had the "Mountain Man" breakfast, which was 2 eggs any style, hashbrowns, back bacon (or choice of ham or chorizio) and 2 large wildberry pancakes. It was way more than I could eat for $10.50, but I am no mountain man.
I think next time I will try the wildberry & cream cheese stuffed french toast. A friend ordered this and it was as big as a loaf of bread! The breakfast burrito looked very tasty too.
My only complaint, and it is a tiny one, is that they use very low, wide cups for coffee and the coffee seems to cool down really quickly in these.
Other than that, it is a clean, cheerful place and a great way to start the day."
