July 2010 — "In July 2010 as a group of 11 people visited Rajdoot. We decided to go with buffet. When we were eating, the waiter / manager, while collecting the extra dishes from the table WARNED us all not to waste food. We only had couple of extra dishes on the table for 11 people. This was so embarrassing in front of our guests. And it was so rude and insulting customer service. This has made a terrible memory since. "

"Great Indian Buffets"

July 2009 — "One of the reasons why I love going to Rajdoot for its buffets, is they never have the same curries on there, and I never get bored.
Normally we go for the lunch buffet, but recently tried a dinner one on a whim. We brought along a friend who asked "is this one any good?" to a lot of the curries, and my excited answer was "oooh, I haven't even tried this one yet!"
I know that some people like to go into a restaurant and know exactly what to expect, but I like to try new things as often as possible. That's what makes the Rajdoot buffets so great. And sure, sometimes we like to come in for an entre, but trying a bit of everything is more fun.
The curries are always good if you ask me, even if some of them probably sit under the heat lamp for too long. (We heard a number of tables watching us remark on how they didn't realise there was a buffet on).
The server is always polite and makes sure you never run out of water. The atmosphere can't be beat, with the Indian music and decorations, and that mouthwatering smell of curry."

"Great Vindaloo = Great Times"

July 2008 — "We went to Rajdoot as a group of nine for my wife's birthday. The food was fantastic, with the beef vindaloo and the rogan josh being the all-stars in my mind. Even though we were a fairly large group, we were kept fed and watered (with 650ml Kingfishers!) for the evening. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. We will be back for sure!"

September 2007 — "Overall was an average experience even though the restaurant has a lot of potential. Buffet had variety but mainly cold food. Service was no great shakes definitely not something you expect from a dine in restaurant where you are paying over 25 dollars per head ! "

July 2007 — "The service was excellent! I had been here a few years back, and Ive noticed that they have renovated the whole place from the inside! It was a really nice surprise. I loved the ambiance. Our waiter was very kind and helpful! I loved the presentation of the dishes. The portion was the right amount! It was a really really good experience all in all! March 2007 — "This was the best experience at an indian restaurant ever.. not to mention the food!!! All of their dishes were too good! I recommend the Butter Chicken, its simply the best in town!! As soon as i walked in, I knew I made the right choice to spend my evening there! Try their sabzi, tandoori chicken, their kabobs were soo good! :) Anyways try it out.. as I said their the best indian fine diners in town!"

"Worst Management I've ever seen"Dan
September 2006 — "A large party of my friends went to Rajdoot for a birthday dinner last September. Whoever organized it did make a poor choice, as a few of our party of about 20 couldn't or wouldn't eat Indian food, but it was the birthday boy's favorite.
Those who chose not to eat (about 3), did certainly drink. However, the manager / owner decided that this was completely inappropriate and that everyone MUST order an entree. Must order an entree? I confronted the manager and said that he could reverse his decision or the entire group of us were leaving, period. After huffing and puffing about it being his busy time, he finally relented. I understand minimum charges, and if he had mentioned that, I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem. But his insistence that everyone eat a full entree was just plain weird, and when he became belligerent about it, it became clear I would never eat here again. This argument got quite loud and went on for about 5 minutes.
The food itself, when it finally did come, was mediocre. I've had far better Indian food in Calgary. The nan was mostly burnt, and the butter chicken was virtually tasteless."

"The Best Butter Chicken!!!!"Julie
August 2006 — "The buffet hd an excellent selection of dishes. Good variety of meats and vegetables and fresh fruits for dessert. Their butter chicken was simply the best. It was a bit spicy and sweet, very creamy. The sauce wasn't as heavy as some others and the chicken was tender. They also had a lamb Keema which is ground lamb with peas and spices. This dish was the most spicy on the buffet and a tad oily but still very good. For all you can eat buffet at $14 it was a pretty good price. The next time I visit Calgary, I will definitely go back to this restaurant and maybe order something off the menu. I haven't had butter chicken like this in Vancouver."

August 2006 — "Rajdoot has been one of my favorite Indian restaurants for a long time. They always make tasty dishes with lots of flavour. I recently went on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised to find a dinner buffet for $14.95. It had a lot of delicious items on it, including butter chicken, tandoori chicken and fresh naan bread. When I order off the menu I am also consistently pleased. "

DescriptionRajdoot offers a wonderful food experience. The food is all freshly prepared in on-site clay ovens and includes a fine selection of Central Asian cuisine. A variety of buffets are available at different times of day and this includes a vegetarian dinner on Tuesday evenings.
