"Ouch, worst service I've had in a long time!"

October 2009 — "OK, so I've been to the Kings Road location many times, and have had pretty good service and excellent coffee. So the other day, I thought I'd try their newest location in Dockside Green (across from the Point Hope Shipyard). While my latte was quite good, the service I received was absolutely terrible (October 11th at noon: you know who you are). I was embarrassed for them and the owners. After waiting five minutes just to be acknowledged, I then faced unanswered questions (really, my inquiries about how busy it was etc. only sometimes got a response). It was hard to believe -- yikes. Overall, I felt uncomfortable and in the way.
Needless to say, I won't be going back to Fantastico at Dockside Green anytime soon (I'll gladly support Discovery & Habit instead (both are just across the harbour)). It's too bad because I used to say Fantastico was the best place in Victoria for coffee... "

Firstly, for the compliment on the good quality of your coffee experiences at Caffe Fantastico, other than this incident that you have outlined. Secondly I have found your review, in particular, to be very helpful due to the detail that you have provided. This specific account has allowed me to look back at the schedule and speak directly with the staff members that worked that day. If every review was detailed as such, each would be very insightful & useful. It's unfortunate that this was your experience and that you were not given satisfactory customer service. The 2 main areas of focus in the training of employees are exceptional customer service & coffee preparation. It sounds as though your visit was at the other end of the spectrum on the service side, so I do apologize on behalf of the 2 employees that were on staff that day. Both have committed to greatly improving their quality of service on a consistent basis. July 2008 — "My name is Thomas Fogg and I am addicted to caffeine. I wasn't always this way, I used to get along fine without the stuff. Then I was introduced to Caffe Fantastico and everything changed. I started craving the stuff morning day and night and now the first thing I do after waking up is brew myself a cup of their locally roasted coffee or head down the street to their hip little caffe, like a junkie to his dealer.
Sometimes I wounder what my life would be like if I'd never even seen the place but then I order up an Americano and by the time I've stirred in a spoonful of cream I've forgotten all about it. My mind moves onto more pleasant thoughts as I quietly sip on one of the most delectable beverages humanity has ever conceived of."
