May 2010 — "Rosie’s Diner located in Cook Street Village is a fun place to go for decent food. The all day breakfast menu will be sure to quench your breakfast craving! I decided on the Breakfast Burrito with bacon which includes pan fries. My mouth dropped when my meal arrived as I could not believe how large it was for the price ($7.95), great value for your dollar! The food, including the other patrons at the table, was very fresh and well made. My guest thoroughly enjoyed her Turkey Benny and was also very impressed with the size of the meal for the price ($8.95). Rosie’s also has a small children’s menu and is incredibly “kid friendly”. The restaurant is very esthetically pleasing adorned with vintage toys, juke boxes, posters and art work – a very fun and relaxed environment! My only complaint was the restrooms which aren’t kept as nicely as they could be kept a bit cleaner, however this may have just been a mistake for one day. The service was very friendly and efficient – you will never find your coffee mug empty! I cannot wait to try their dinner menu!"

March 2010 — "We found Rosie's Bistro on Saanich Road to be an amazing little restaurant with a fantastic reasonably priced menu and great service. My teenagers are vegetarian and we have difficulty finding a place that we all like to eat, they are the most picky food critics and they love the vegetarian food there as much as I love the seafood! Great value, ambience, service and food. Someone called it a hidden gem, which is entirely accurate!

June 2008 — "We found ourselves in Cook Street Village on a Saturday afternoon, looking for some lunch, and decided to try Rosie’s Diner for a quick bite. From the outside, Rosie’s looks like a cozy, neighborhood, retro diner…seemed like a good place to try out. Once inside, we realized that their idea of retro was plastering to place in Betty Boop posters, and it wasn’t actually that cozy after all. We were hoping that the food had more going for it than the décor. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich while my wife ordered the burger. Both were disappointing. Rosie’s serves the kind of food you’d expect from the only restaurant in a very small town…the kinda place people keep going to, because there is no other choice. Victoria has A LOT of restaurants, and I’d try them all before going back to Rosie’s. I had high expectations with Rosie’s. I’m always on the lookout for a decent diner that serves good food at good prices. Too bad Rosie’s didn’t live up to my expectations."

January 2008 — "I'm not sure what to say about Rosie's Diner. I wanted to like it, and it looks like a popular spot, but the lunch I was served recently was average at best. I had a BLT with clam chowder side. The sandwich was OK, but the soup was awful. It tasted like mushy fish bits mixed in water and not much more. I think most troublesome about my experience at Rosie's was the condition of the men's washroom. When I go to place like Rosie's I'm not expecting much, but they could invest a few hundred bucks and make it soooo much nicer. It reminded me of a highway gas station restroom... Sorry Rosie."
