February 2012 — "This little hidden gem of a restaurant is located in a little know and visted part of Chinatown in downtown Calgary. Inside of one of the tiniest malls filled with Asian specialty shops and restaurants is a vegan's delight called Veggie House. The mall itself is called City Plaza, however, I doubt this will ring many bells with people as I have walked past this mall countless times without noticing. The food court inside is also seldomly busy it is amazing the shops inside are able to stay in business. But that's part of the appeal of such a place since there is never the need to line up or wait for a table and also feels like a genuine find. The shop offers up an assortment of gluten related foods popular with Chinese vegans and Buddhists who cannot eat meat. There are different flavors such as BBQ, sweet and sour, and traditional stir fry. You can try all the flavors for only $5 or so. The service was friendly and the price was even better. Worth a try even if you're not a vegetarian."
