January 2010 — "It was a bit like visiting Greece. Past Grecian statues and twinkling lights our party of 5 entered The Greek House in Lake Country, BC. It was a Friday evening and although the parking lot was full, the restaurant bustling and we were without reservations, we were seated immediately. Several small dining rooms full of tables, soft lighting and traditional Greek music helped set the scene. The menu is almost entirely Greek food. The most popular item ordered at our table was a “combination plate” which consisted of your choice of chicken, lamb or beef souvlaki served with garlic prawns, Greek salad, pita bread, tzsaziki, rice and potatoes. I chose an entrée of scallops and prawn souvlaki which also had the Greek salad, pita bread tzsaziki rice and potatoes. The waitress brought a basket of pita bread to the table to begin and the entrees with their accompaniments were all served on the same plate. The food was hot and delicious. The prawns were presented wrapped around the scallops and served on a skewer. The potatoes had been roasted in lemon and garlic and the tzsaziki rich and creamy. A bottle of local Arrowleaf Pinot Noir rounded out the meal nicely. The service was pleasant as was our evening."

October 2007 — "The Greek House has been in Lake Country for almost 15 years now and is a favorite amoung locals. It is out of the way enough that you have to know it's there to find it. It is run by a Greek family who must have some secret family recipe for the tzaziki. Their tzaziki and humous have become so famous locally that you can now buy small containers of it in local supermarkets. It is great stuff to have on hand at home.
If it is a warm summer evening and you can sit outside, this is the best option. It is a small restaurant but is cozy inside. It can get pretty busy on a weekend night so it is best to make reservations if possible. Although I could easily fill up on their pita bread and dips, and their roasted potatoes, there are many traditional Greek dishes to choose from. The chicken souvlaki is one of my favorites there but the moussaka is really good too. I also love their dolmathes here. The service is usually pretty good even when busy as they are used to the rushes. Be prepared to reek like garlic with any dish you choose but it is so worth it!
If you are in Lake Country be sure to try the Greek House Restaurant. If you can't find it, ask anyone who lives in Lake Country and they will be able to direct you as everyone who lives here knows the restaurant."
