January 2011 — "Me and my girlfriend we celebrated our 1 year anniversary and we decide to have dinner at violino. We went there without making reservation and the server has accommodating us with a very romantic table near the fire place[very cozy].The server was great and after he explain the specials of the day he made excellent recommendations for some appetizers and main courses. He paired our dinner with two cocktails to start and a great bottle of chimney rock cabernet sauvignon. We had a memorable dinner and we will come back again soon.

July 2009 — "This restaurant has a wonderful ambience about it and the service is outstanding. I always found it a little on the expensive side until I dined there recently. The chef has a new menu featuring different dishes from the various provinces of Italy. At $45 for a five course meal plus tea or coffee it has to be the best deal going in Edmonton.
I enjoyed all of the five courses but my favourites were the pasta smothered in a wonderful creamy sauce and the main entree which was a good sized, tender steak. For dessert we had a delicious mascarpone with fresh cherries on top. Delicious!
The Violino Gastronomia Italiano may have a rather pretentious name but the waiters certainly know the food selections on the menu and the appropriate wine pairings. The service is fantastic. I would definitely put this restaurant on the list of best places to dine in Edmonton."

June 2008 — "This place is elegant. I loved it! The restaurant is a character house that has been transformed into an elegant, authentic, Italian restaurant. I dined there with about 20 others as part of a wedding dinner. The upper floor of the restaurant was reserved for us. The tables were set with white table linens and beautiful cutlery and glasses. The solid chairs had very tall backs and were covered with simple, rich fabrics. They were so comfortable. It was such an elegant dining experience. The food was presented beautifully and worth savoring every morsel. We started with crusted breads that had soft, fluffy insides. These were served with butter or balsamic vinegar with olive oil. Yum. The entree I had was salmon with vegetables and wild rice. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Each bite melting off of the fork. The vegetables were in-season and for us this included asparagus. They too were cooked just right. Tender, yet firm. It was amazing how much flavor each bite could hold. One had to eat slowly to savour it all. I'd love to dine there again!"
