September 2010 — "We chose the Med Grill in Royal Oak as our destination for an impromptu dinner out. This restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere, is reasonably priced and caters to all ages and occasions.
We were led to our table and told of the daily specials before we were actually seated. Our waiter arrived shortly and was much more relaxed, very friendly and provided excellent service.
We both chose the four course Tuscan menu which offers a small appetizer of the day and choice of salad, entree and dessert for $17.99. A half carafe of wine rounded the meal nicely. The appetizer arrived by a server who dropped the plates and was gone without a word. Although the small creation atop a puffed pastry triangle was tasty, I still am unsure of the ingredients. My salad was a crisp blend of mixed greens, light dressing topped with slices of fig and red grapes. For my entree I chose fettucine with prawns in a sambuca sauce and although the sambuca flavour was very subtle, the dish was creamy and nicely balanced. Both desserts sounded good so my husband and I ordered one of each to share. The first was a frangelico tart with fresh blueberries and cream. The second was Irish Cream pot de creme and was rich and smooth. Both desserts were delicious!
Our dinners were well prepared and of very good value. We would definitely return for dinner on another occasion."

October 2009 — "We recently went to Med Grill in Royal Oak to celebrate My moms, sisters & a good family friends birthdays. There was five of us all together. We had made lunch reservations for 1230 on a Saturday afternoon. I like this place for gatherings or just meeting up with a friend. It can get quite busy at the best of times. Reservations are a good idea but not necessary. I would call the décor tuscan style with the walls painted a mustard colour with rust accents. Lots of tall pottery flower vases are tucked in corners. The ceiling are high with a huge fireplace on the one wall. The building is historical and used to be the municipal hall for the area. There are historical police chief pictures on the hall wall on your way to the washrooms labelled gods & goddess. If you grew up in the area, you would probably recognize some of the family names.
Our server was friendly & prompt bringing drinks, water & coffee immediately. The food is moderately priced around $10 - 14 for lunches. The sandwiches are served with choice of soup or salad. Portions are good. One of the party ordered the seafood pasta for $14. It was a large portion and she ended up taking half home. I ordered the thai chicken salad for $12.95. It was served with mixed greens on a bed of oriental noodles with a warm grilled chicken breast and a slice of foccacia bread. The dressing was really good. Just the right amount. Not too soggy. I certainly enjoyed it. As did everyone in our party enjoy their meal. I would go back, good food, good service, reasonably priced. Our bill for 5 came to $74.

August 2007 — "The Med Grill has been around for a few years and recently expanded opening a second location. Both locations offer the same great food, but the atmosphere is different appealing to different crowds. The Med Grill in Royal Oak is located just off the Pat Bay Highway. Great seating indoors or out, the ambience is fun and is a great place to meet up with friends or take the parents out for dinner. The new location is on Fort Street in downtown Victoria. It is trendy and draws a younger crowd. The weekday dinner menu features a four-course meal with an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert - for a great price. You have three or four items to select from in each course and it is a great way to try new dishes. The menu changed recently which took off any food that would appeal to the average child so I wouldn't recommend this as a restaurant for young children. I would, though, recommend it for adults for any occasion - this is my favourite place to meet up with friends - but be sure to make a reservation any day of the week."

This popular spot serves a blend of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. Apart from the main dining area, the restaurant also features a bar and lounge.
