January 2010 — "As a lover of thai food and having even been to Thailand and taken cooking courses there this is the first restaurant that has met my expectations of true Thai cuisine. Healthy and lite with exceptional flavor. Very clean and friendly staff. "

September 2009 — "Viphalay Laos and Thai Restaurant is located just north of Edmonton’s downtown. It seems to be one of the only Thai restaurants that is actually open in the afternoon on Sundays. But aside from its convenient hours, the food was also absolutely exceptional! We ordered the Pad Thai, Red Curry and a side of coconut rice, which are admittedly pretty standards items but why mess with the best! The portions were substantial, perhaps too much for lunch time actually. The prices are a bit on the high end but certainly worth it. A menu with smaller portions and lower prices for lunch time might be a nice option. The service was friendly and timely. We were a bit concerned about the sign on the door indicating no public washroom but we'll assume, for now, this means the washroom is for customers only. Viphalay has a beautiful décor and a lovely atmosphere. For those who already have a favourite Laos and Thai place, be adventurous and give this place a try at least once. You won’t be disappointed!!"
