May 2011 — "My experience at Sauce was a relaxed environment, where you are getting what you pay for, and that's not a bad thing. I went for dinner with a friend on a Thursday evening around 6pm. At this time, the restaurant was surprisingly empty. The server checked in on us a suitable amount of time, and the food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time.
There was nothing too exotic on the menu, it is somewhere between comfort food, and trying to add a few new things to the mix. My steak sandwich was as expected, open-faced on garlic bread...but cooked how I like it, which can sometimes be a challenge for restaurants. I eat my steak cooked medium.
The pop had free refills, which I find important, since restaurant pop in general is overpriced. My friend really enjoyed her cocktail, which she explained tasted like a Sour Key candy.
The ambiance was good for chatting, has a slightly fancy feeling, but you are still fine and not out of place to be in jeans. Not so much a family place, but great for girlfriends or out on a date.
The one disappointment is that the washroom isn't that great.
I will go back again, for the food and the atmosphere."

January 2009 — "A friend and I decided to check out a place we hadn't eaten at before and decided on Sauce Bar & Restaurant. We went on a Friday night at 6pm and were surprised to find only a couple tables occupied. The setting is modern and warm and a great place to people watch if you get a seat by the window! At the waitresses' suggestion, we decided to get the white sangria. Neither one of us previously tasted white sangria but were familiar with regular sangria. The drink tasted like really watered down white wine - it was awful! We had the waitress try it and she thought it was odd as well so then she took the pitcher and had the bartender try it. It turned out the machine spitting out one of the items in this drink wasn't working very well...we stuck to what we knew and ordered a bottle of wolf blass eaglehawk instead.
Our dinners were also bland in taste. We ordered the goat cheese & walnut salad, and a steak sandwich. My friend thought the salad might have been tasting better as she neared the end and when we both tried the steak, we couldn't believe that it tasted like there wasn't even a single spice sprinkled on it - not even salt or pepper! Sauce might be a good place for soup and a sandwich?"
