February 2010 — "This is the kind of place that I think of when I hear the word 'pub'. I little dark without being depressing; a little small and cozy without being dingy. The food is of the variety that you would expects form a pub.. but tastes a little better. The fries are battered, and really great! I had the special; a veggie wrap with pesto for sauce; I wish they had it on their regular menu! I would eat there all the time. Also, it's very had to find bad beer anywhere in Victoria, and this place is no exception..."

March 2009 — "This has to be the best pub in Victoria. The staff are friendly, the food is good, and the fire in the Winter is great. Easy to settle down for a few pints of local brew. Always made to feel welcome!"

"Good Burger...and they won't kick you out!"

December 2008 — "After work on Friday's a few of my co-workers and I will often go for a few beers before heading home. A few Beers sometimes leads to a few more, and OCCASIONALLY conversations can get a little loud...we can get a little animated. We have been asked politely to leave by staff at a couple local establishments, so we started frequenting the Garrick's Head...because they don't seem to mind at all. On a Friday evening before Christmas, we all headed down to the Pub for a few beers and my wife decided to meet me there for a quick bite to eat before heading home. We both ordered burgers with fries, and I was hoping mine would be better than some of the pub burgers I'd tried around town recently. The burgers came quick despite the fact that the pub was packed and it was Friday around supper time. Let me say this, The Garrick's Head makes a good burger. Flavorful, hand shaped patties, fresh tomato and lettuce and fresh, tasty bun. I don't ask for anything really special in a pub burger, but this is how it's done. Simple and tasty...great with a beer. I used to like the Garrick's Head because it's a no-frills place to get a pint, in the heart of Bastion square. Now I know I can get a decent bite to eat there too."
