October 2009 — "I live just down the street from Christie's so I've given it a couple of tries, just hoping it could become a cool local pub to hang out at. However, I must say I've given up on that dream. Other than a decent wings night, there is really nothing interesting or exciting about this place. It has a dark, bland environment, average service, and uninspired bar fare. The patio is even one of those cheesy glassed in patios that are, I'm guessing, supposed to be all seasons, but ends up empty during the winter and half of what a patio should be during the summer. The most disappointing thing on the menu: Spicy Beef Lettuce Wraps. They give you a bowl of spicy beef and a couple leafs of lettuce so you can wrap the meats in the greens. Say wha? The best thing on the menu: a great selection of local and regional beers. All in all, I may someday go back simply for the convenience of it, but would not recommend Christie's to anybody I know."

February 2008 — "Once again, we found ourselves looking for a place to grab some supper on a Friday night...and once again we decided to hot up a local pub for a quick bite. We decided to try Christies Pub, which we'd passed many times and said we'd have to stop at some day. Christie's is a great looking pub, located in a restored, turn of the century carriage house. It's a big pub, so even on a Friday night at suppertime, we didn't have a problem getting a seat. We were hungry, so we ordered a couple drinks from their extensive beer menu, and when the drinks arrived we placed our food orders. I resisted the urges to order a burger and got Christie's Baja Bowl ( a glorified Taco Salad), while my wife kept it simple, and ordered the house burger. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and everything tasted fine. My salad sounded alot better on the menu, and while it wasn't completely staifying, it did the job. I had the last couple bites of my wifes burger, and it was quite good. Great charbroiled patty on a fresh bun, but little to offer besides that. The price of the meals was pretty average, but we found drink prices to be some of the steapest we've seen. We were really surprised by the almost $8 Christies was charging for a pint of Strongbow Cider.
I'd have to say that our experience at Christie's Pub was pretty average. The place looks like it's packed with regulars, and the patrons add alot of local flavor. Too bad the kitchen staff doesn't add any of that flavor to the food. I mean, the food was exactly what you'd expect from a neighborhood pub...nothing more with nothing to set it apart. Would we go back? Maybe, but I think there are pubs in Victoria with alot more to offer. Too bad such a great looking place wasn't able to deliver like I'd hoped it would."
