"Best Breakfast in Victoria"

August 2011 — "I have lived downtown for almost three years, and Mole is definitely the best breakfast restaurant in Victoria. I've tried several dishes here, and my hands-down favourite is Mo's Biscuit. It can get VERY busy on weekends, so going early is a must."

September 2010 — "Mole is a place full of comfort foods of a different style. They seem to take a lot of time in the details and I’ve always enjoyed everything I’ve eaten there. My friend and I decided to go for brunch as that’s the main menu and waited for about 10 minutes to be seated which was alright as I’ve had to wait for over half an hour before. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the eggs benny and huevos rancheros. Both were amazing! I would highly recommend the eggs benny – the hash browns are not like any other hash browns around because they cover them with a bit of pesto so they’re far from bland. And the prices are average with each dish being a little over $10. Mole is in a great location if you’re shopping around downtown and feel like a enjoying delicious food in a funky setting."

"Wow, great for carnivores and vegans alike"

September 2010 — "What a find; if only they were open for dinner service! This spot was super busy when we went for lunch on the weekend. It was worth the wait if only for the vegan Caesar salad! I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had a Caesar salad- it was phenomenal. So was my warm yam wrap with goat cheese and lemon tahini dressing, and my pesto potatoes on the side. But if the vegan Caesar doesn't grab you, there are also plenty of compassionate meats on the menu as well; my husband had a coconut curry with free range chicken on top. Both of us were extremely happy with our meal and the service."

"Very Tasty..."

November 2008 — "I had Mole's basic breakfast this morning (two free run eggs, toast and hashbrowns), and it was pretty darn tasty. The day's food delivery hadn't arrived yet, so I was unable to get bacon or multi-grain toast. Despite that, I would still recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the service was excellent. Next time I'll definitely order something a little more adventurous."

"Vibrant food "

April 2008 — "This place serves such delicious and vibrant food. I took my mom out for lunch. It was lively with other folks buzzing with conversation and laughter. Artwork from local artists hung on the walls and from the ceiling. There were a couple large mobiles made of oragami animals. My mom ordered the burger and soup. I had a large salad filled with all sorts of vegetables and a very tasty dressing. The meals were large and full of color and texture. My mom was so impressed with the taste of the burger. The staff were all lovely; expressing their unique characteristics in their dress and easy going manner. I think what I like best about this restaurant is the amount of raw food and vegetarian options they offer. The meat options that they serve are free-range. The flavor of the dishes here often exceed my expectations, as do the portions (I often find myself taking 1/2 home for my lunch the next day). I would recommend this restaurant to others. "

"best breakfast in town!"

April 2008 — "Mole is a great little restaurant in downtown Victoria, just outside of Chinatown, which I would recommend to anyone. I went in for a late breakfast and was totally impressed. The staff were friendly in a professional way, got us seated and coffees for us first thing while we decided what to have. I ordered a buttermilk biscuit topped with eggs and roasted red pepper, with a side of pesto tossed home fries. It was delicious, everything tasted really fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it had an attractive presentation too. The sandwich also came with bacon or, for the vegetarians, you can substitute it for avocado. I was with vegetarians and they really appreciated the option, however I enjoyed my bacon. They also use organic and local ingredients whenever seasonally possible. It has a nice ambience to it with local artwork filling the walls. Its open concept allowed me to see into the kitchen and exposed a clean and seemingly friendly work environment. It was a great meal, I will go again. A word to the wise though, if you plan on going on a weekend morning, expect at least a half hour wait or go early. "

"Holy Mole"

September 2007 — "The art of hash browns is a subtle yet extremely profound skill in my books and the hash browns at Mole are now listed in those books as the quintessential example of these tasty-tots. This hip little diner is a great place for a weekend breakfast and it has the lineups to prove it. Inside, I was happy to find a relaxed atmosphere with art hanging on the walls and university students coping with their hangovers. The service was quick and I was quick to order a coffee and tomato juice. Neither were much to rave about, but nothing was really expected. I then ordered a roasted yam and brie cheese omelet which came with the for-mentioned hash browns. My mouth still waters as I think about this meal as it was the highest quality breakfast I have yet encountered. "
