March 2008 — "Macchiato is a real find. The coffee is great. The sandwiches and panini are creative and gourmet quality - and very reasonably priced. I especially like that they don't grill your panino until it's charred. The baked goods are terrific. It's a bright light in a sea of ho-hum downtown Victoria lunch spots. Highly recommend it."

January 2008 — "Visited this very nice cafe called macchiato on Broad Street on Friday, wow!
I have not seen a cool looking cafe like this ever in Victoria. Great coffee, friendly staff, great menu and the best part... the look is great and cosy....
I've just found my new hang out. The owners have done a bang up job, it's about time we have a "normal" Euro style cafe making great normal coffees.
May I remind everyone that in Europe, they don't have latte art or any of that nonsense... just drink it and enjoy...
