July 2010 — "After being out on the water for a couple hours, we decided to stop at Glo for a bite to eat. Glo is a sexy restaurant located on the Selkirk waterway with a great indoor and outdoor seating. We ended up seeing the sunset with the great views they have! They seem to have a menu where most people should be able to find something they like. We had a pizza and the Asian chicken wraps. The pizza had greens, chicken, and artichoke and I wouldn’t have changed a thing! The Asian chicken wraps were just as delicious but very messy. Glo also had a very large drink menu and I had a kiwi drink that was not like any other drink I’ve had. It was very tasty but also chunky which I’m not fond of but it’s definitely worth a taste! Overall, I love the ambiance and seating and the service is excellent. After the sun went down, the waiter actually offered me a blanket!"

"Glo Europub and Restaurant"

September 2009 — "I visited Glo Europub and Restaurant, with my dear friend, on Friday night. we were expecting some good drinks, good service, and great food. We were wrong! First of all, we walked into the restaurant and stood at the host counter for at least 3-4 minutes, watching the host chat with the waitresses...before he decided to seat us. Finally we were seated, however the lights above our table were burned out, so I could hardly see my guest at all. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria, which was delicious....however the waitress dumped it on our table and didn't fill our glasses. We made the first pours ourselves. We then ordered dinner. I had the 'Crispy Salmon' which came served on a potato crouqutte and a a beet dill relish. The crouqette was awesome, however the salmon was very bland. Living on Vancouver island, and ordering fresh west coast salmon, it should not be bland. The 'crust' was seared salmon skin, which again I am not a fan of. The meak cost an incredible $23.50 not bad if the fish was fresh, and the portion was decent. If there was taste to the meal, I could have eaten 2. My friend ordered the Angus Sirloin, $19.50 and the size of a small crab cake. Over done, yet otherwise acceptable. We were finished our Sangria by now, and wanted to move onto Martini's. Where was the waitress?? Who knows!! It took at least 7-10 min and both of us made a trip to the bathroom ( the very dirty, toilet paper all over the place, and scummy bathroom) and back before she came to get us some drinks, and clear our dinner plates (and this was after we had stacked the plates and put our empty glasses at the end of the table) This is when we decided that if we wanted to have a few drinks, and a good chat, that we needed to move to the bar. Time to even up with the waitress. Where was she ??? We moved with out her and she came and found us another 10 min, later. Her excuse was that she had a big table and everyone was using debit. we stayed for a few more drinks, .....and then we left. I was very disappointed in the service, and also the food quality. Not good for the money. I have been to Glo before and have had a much better experience than this, however, Friday night was pretty bad...I don't know if I will go back again. Good Luck!"

"Nice Place on the Gorge"

October 2008 — "This pub is located in a very nice spot on the Gorge Waterway in Victoria. Situated in the middle of government offices, the pub was very busy but it is a large establishment and able to handle large groups of people. There were only two of us so we didn't have a problem finding a table although I would have liked a table by the window so we could look out over the water. There is outdoor seating during the day but the outdoor area was closed while we were there - might be worth a day time visit just to sit on the waterway and watch the activity on the Gorge. There was a wide variety to choose from on the menu including appetizers and entrees but the food was more geared to pub style food - burgers, sandwiches and salads. We both had the prime rib burger. It was good but not as outstanding as the view. The service was good and overall I would return to the Glo but next time I would want to come on a sunny day and sit outside."

"Overly pretentious "

May 2008 — "Glo Europub is a trendy restaurant in Victoria’s up and coming Selkirk water front. It has amazing views of the Gorge waterway and is a convenient lunch spot for all the neighboring businesses, in fact you may have to wait if you go there at peak lunch time. The décor is modern and has an open layout with a bar in the center and tables circling it. In the summertime they have a large patio complete with couches overlooking the waterway. The menu is small but has a variety of food and they also have daily specials. The food has a new-age European flare with items such as polenta fries and blackened snapper. They also have an impressive wine list with many of my BC favorites. I ordered the daily special which was a bowl of steamed clams in vodka sauce. Although the food was good I was very disappointed by the portion size and I felt it was overpriced. In fact I thought that most of the menu items were overpriced. The servers, although they were efficient, came off as slightly rude and not very helpful. If you are looking for a trendy restaurant with good ambience and view then I would recommend Glo but if you are looking for a place where you get value for your dollar you will not find it here."
