October 2009 — "My Partner and I visited San Remo's Restaurant last Friday night, and we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. I'm not sure if this deal is for every Friday night, however for this particular date, we got 2 entrees and a bottle of wine for $50. There were 4 entree selections, and 2 bottles of wine to choose from. I chose the Lamb, and my partner the Seafood Pasta. The lamb was likely the best tasting lamb that I have ever tasted. You did not need to chew it, it was so tender. The meat fell off the bone. The pasta was very nice as well, however it did not compare to the lamb. We chose a delicious Australian Pinot Gris, and it was very refreshing and cold.
The service was good, and we did not have to wait a minute to get in, however they do also take reservations.
The atmosphere is relaxed yet romantic. I suggest taking a date or a loved one to this restaurant, you will not be disappointed."

October 2009 — "San Remo's has everything you are expecting from a fine greek restaurant. It has a great atmosphere, friendly service and of course fantastic food. On our last visit my wife and I had the dinner special they were promoting, which was a bottle of wine and two entrees for $50. We also had calamari as and appetizer and I would say it is the best I have ever had. The fish is fresh, the breading light and the tzatziki is fantastic. (Another great appy is saganaki, which is fried goat cheese flambe'd at your table). For main course I had the san remo pasta which was excellent and not too heavy. My wife had the lamb shoulder and I ended up eating a good portion of this because of the size. It was so tender you didn't even really have to chew, really superb! We will absolutely be returning to San Remo's again and again, and is a great location of a quiet dinner."

February 2009 — "San Remos does not look like much from the outside but once you are inside it is a warren of little rooms that keep going and going. We were seated at the far back of the restaurant in what appeared to once have been a patio area. A glass roof with plants hanging everywhere you feel like you are in a restaurant in Greece. The tables are all close together so don't expect much privacy. My friend and I were seated by a window so we had some space. The service was excellent and our waitress was very patient. My friend and I hadn't seen each other for a long time and were talking so much we took a bit of time before looking at the menus after the waitress took our drink order. We couldn't decide on what to have so we started with calamari and bruschetta to share. Both dishes were excellent. We decided to try two more of the smaller portion dishes to share so we ordered a house special dish of tomatoes, cheese and spices served on a crispy bread. We had another order of calamari because we liked it so much. The portions were large and we ended up eating and talking for a couple of hours. I loved San Remos. The atmosphere was comfortable and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend going here with a friend or a large group. They seem well equipped to handle both. "

December 2007 — "I’m always looking for a great pizza place and I think I’ve found my favourite in Victoria so far. It’s the Greek restaurant San Remo on Quadra and Hillside. It’s really, really good pizza. It’s a bit expensive ($30 for 2 mediums) but it was totally worth it. We tried the San Remo special and the Greek. They both had pretty much the same toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, onions, green peppers, olives, fresh tomatoes) but the Greek had feta too. They were both delicious. The sauce was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. San Remo was generous with their toppings which were also very fresh. My only complaint is that the Greek pizza was a bit on the salty side but I think that must have been because of the cheese. We ordered the pizza to go so I’m not sure what the service is like, but it’s a very cozy atmosphere and I know it’s been around for a long time. I’ll definitely be back. I’d like to try something else from their menu next time. I noticed they have lots of other items and a lot of pasta and seafood dishes. My mouth is watering just writing this review. Next time I get a craving for pizza or Greek food I’ll be heading to San Remo. Next time I’ll try eating in though…"

December 2007 — "It was Christmas Eve, and my wife and I decided to order in some pizza, to make it easy on us the night before we cooked a big turkey dinner. We took a look online for some recommendations, and ended up ordering from San Remo, which is a short drive from our house. Now, San Remo is a popular Greek restaurant in Quadra Village that I’ve heard mixed reviews about. We’d never eaten there before, but had read good things about their pizza. We placed on order for one medium San Remo Special (pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, onions, green peppers, olives, fresh tomatoes, cheese and tomato sauce), and one Greek (pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, olives, tomatoes, feta and mozzarella cheeses), for a total of just over $28.00, and were told they’d be ready for pickup in 20 minutes. When we arrived, the pizza was hot and ready, and we were back home and ready to eat 5 minutes later. Let me say this, the pizza from San Remo was the best I’ve had in 6 months we’ve been in Victoria. The toppings were fresh and the pizzas were delicious. San Remo’s Greek pizza was the best Greek pizza I’ve ever had…lots of feta, which got kind of crispy in the pizza oven…fantastic! The two medium pizzas fed three people for supper, and for lunch the following day. Really tasty pies, I’d definitely order from San Remo again. Based on their pizza, we’ll make a point of eating in on some of their standard Greek fare too."
