April 2012 — "The Main Dish is one of those places that is worth visiting Bridgeland for if you don't already live there. It's a unique kind of eatery -- it's both a restaurant and a sort of deli where you can get quick bites and prepared meals to take home. In calgary, I would say it's comparable to Sunterra Market, although I find their prepared food to be slightly more gourmet than Sunterra. The prices reflect this as they are quite a bit more expensive too.
Someone going to the Main Dish for the first time may find it a bit confusing as you're not sure what you order at which counter, how to order, etc. I've found that the staff are always really helpful and polite and they are very happy to point you in the right direction or make recommendations. If you decide to eat in, they'll give you a number to put on your table and deliver your hot food when it's ready. I usually get my food to go and have never been disappointed by my meal -- everything is very fresh and flavourful. "

December 2011 — "The Main Dish is a unique restaurant that serves both take-away and hot food. They have a more healthy approach to pre-made food which I appreciate. They also have a great selection of desserts! For lunch I ordered the soup & sandwich combo. The roast beef is so good that I order it EVERY time I go there! The meat is so tender, and it also has caramelized onions as a topping - delicious! This restaurant features local artwork, and has a great atmosphere."

March 2011 — "This place has a contemporary decor. You are greeted with a deli bar full of many unique items such as quinoa/steak salad, quiche, baked macaroni and cheese, salmon, etc. It's comparable to a sunterra market deli. There was also a sampling tray of bruschetta and french bread which was so good I had to have seconds.
They have a sandwich bar, coffee/dessert bar, and another hot meal station. You pay by weight for most items. I ordered the Italian sandwich which was very small and pricey. It came on a ciabatta bun which is small and it cost $8.99. I also had a side salad of artichoke/chickpea/feta salad which was $4.19 for a small bowl. All of my food was delicious, fresh, and homemade but be prepared to pay for it. The desserts look amazing and I have tried the white chocolate cheesecake on a previous visit but not this time. It's phenomenal though.
The staff have aprons and cooks have chef hats which gives the impression that's it's a bit higher end. They put a lot of love in their food. "

May 2009 — "The Main Dish is located in Bridgeland, about a three-minute drive from my house. On days where we don't feel like cooking, we head down to the Main Dish to pick something up. They actually have a restaurant in there that is licensed and looks quite nice, but we are more fond of taking home our meals. A wide variety of pre-cooked and non-cooked entrees are available, as well as salads, dips and other appetizer-like foods.
On our last visit we picked up some Greek salad and some potato salads, as well as some meatloaf. All items were very delicious. The thing about The Main Dish is that they offer fine dining meals using fresh ingredients. But fresh and fine meals usually come with a price tag and we are always just a little bit surprised at the bill when we go up to the register to pay. Yet, we keep going back so that is definitely something."

November 2007 — "Main Dish has a great assortment of gourmet goodies, take-away dishes and a hot meal, dine-in service. For the dine-in option they usually have a couple of choices, ranging from pastas and meat dishes with the choice of two sides. I tried the strip sirloin with demi glace, grilled asparagus and roasted potatoes. A fair portion and the meal was pretty good. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Staff was friendly. They also have several desserts along with hot and cold beverage (tea, coffee, wine, bottled waters, etc.) choices to enjoy with your meal. Nice lattes.
