January 2012 — "The Dog and Duck is a super cool little pub located pretty close to Chinook Mall. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner before catching a movie. I had a pint of guinness to drink, which was perfectly poured, complete with a shamrock and everything! Our server was super friendly and was an added plus to our dining experience. The pub used to be an old house so the atmosphere is very low key, relaxing and cozy. For our appetizer, we ordered the maple bacon wrapped scallops, a definite must try. The scallops were tender and moist and dripping in maple sauce. So good! My main course was the halibut fish and chips. At $18, my two pieces of fish were quite a bit smaller than I would have expected, but the quality was definitely there. I am told this pub is a great place to check out an open mic, which I think I might do soon! "

May 2011 — "My wife had a coupon for the Dog and Duck. We had both been before in the summer, and had a good time didn't have food just drinks.
The food was average, the drinks were ok, but the service was the worst I have seen in a long time. Considering there were only 2 or 3 tables to look after, I expected much better.
If you happen to be sitting at the table with the servers friends, you would have had one-on-one service, as this is where she spent most of her evening.
She never quite seemed to get that we needed something and sometimes 20 minutes would go by without her coming over to see if we needed anything. Yes! Our pints are empty! We had to keep getting up to tell her when we wanted to order something else.
The brie with apples and cranberries was not good and even made me laugh . The brie was not melted enough, and the pieces of apples were old and brown when the dish was brought to the table my wife was not impressed. We asked if we could send it back but apparently it wasn't possible. $15.00 was way to much to pay for this. The Dog platter was really just okay but for $26.00, it just didn't seem worth it for a few wings, curly fries, dips, veggies, and chicken fingers.
The Bathrooms very very uncleanly.
I would not visit this place again, coupon or not."

April 2009 — "This is probably Calgary's most authentic English pub, with its warm atmosphere and definitely the best Guinness in town. I've tried out most of the food the pub offers, from lunch items to appetizers to English entrees, and they all taste great. My favorite, however, is the Fish & Chips. But what was most impressive is the Dog & Duck's Patio! There is no patio in the city like this patio, it's like sitting in your own backyard! "
