May 2011 — "I took my family to the Golden Inn for Mother's Day. Located in Calgary's Chinatown, this restaurant has been there for as long as I can remember. Due to the Mother's day celebrations, we made reservations in advance. When we arrived, our table was located upstairs...seemed to be an overflow area when their main floor was too busy. The ambiance was not the greatest, however, they did have couches and a tv for the kids to sit around and occupy themselves when they finished their meals. I'll take this anyday over something fancy. We ordered a variety of food for our table. It was all good, but the most memorable ones were the cod, ginger fried beef, deep fried oysters, fried chicken amongst others. I would rate the food as excellent. The service was okay, nothing to write home about. I felt for the server as he had to lug our food up the stairs to our respective tables. All in all, it was some excellent food. I will definitely be back."
