February 2011 — "On a recent trip from Calgary to Edmonton we made a quick stop in Red Deer for lunch. East Side Marios was located in a strip mall near the highway so it was a simple choice. It was noon hour on Saturday and this place was buzzing with customers. It's a good thing there were almost as many servers running around to serve the hungry patrons. The only previous time I had been to Marios I tried the angel hair pasta which was fantastic. This time I went with the chicken and bacon pizza since it is a restaurant that prides itself on Italian American cuisine. The pizza came out fast and piping out. It was a personal pizza and just the right size. The thin crust and generous toppings made for a very tasty dish although I was disappointed there was no tomato sauce to be found. Overall it was still a pleasant experience and the prices are very reasonable."

December 2008 — "The Saturday we went to East Side Marios it was packed with hockey teams, families and shoppers during their lunch time trade. We had just a short wait before we were shown to our table and before we knew it our waitress was there to take our order.
I ordered the mariboli wrap, caesar salad and Italian wedding soup. A selection off the lunch time menu at just $9.99. The wrap was a nice combination of chicken and fresh vegetables in a sun dried tomato wrap. The waitress offered freshly grated parmesan cheese as an extra topping for the salad. The soup was delicious too and was full of barley and the small meatballs that make this one of my favorites. All meals come with Marios freshly baked bread and garlic butter.
Judging from the young families around us this is a great place to take kids for a meal. Their servings are just the right size and their desserts are a real novelty - three little ice cream cones in a unique wire stand. Kids seemed to love the presentation.
The service was quick considering that the place was packed and the prices were good."

East Side Mario's serves American-Italian cuisine. Their restaurant is setup like an old Italian street market. Here, patrons will fine authentic Italian pasta, sandwiches, salads, and grilled entrees.
