July 2011 — "To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, my wife and I headed up to Emerald Lake Lodge since that is where we met. She used to work in the lounge, so we decided to have a drink and a bite to eat up there. It has not changed much over the years, but it still is quite elegant. We were going to dine on the patio, but there was a wedding party there, which suited us fine. Instead we sat in the bar area. We were greeted within a few minutes by the bartender and decided to order the Game Platter, which consists of Smoked Air Dried Buffalo, Venison Ham, Pepper Duck Breast, Game Pate, Elk Salami, Mustard Melons & Cranberry Relish. This all comes with bread. I used to make these platters when working at Emerald Lake so I knew what to expect. It was quite good and it was nice to taste all the different game meats. My favorite was the duck. I ordered a coffee and the server gave me a whole pot, which was handy. Overall, the experience was exactly as I expected it to be, elegant and delicious. "
