March 2011 — "We stumbled across the downstream during an avalanche course we took in Jasper back in Dec 2010. Some of our classmates were going to the downstream, and raved about the food, so we had to check it out too. We've been back 3 times, and hands down, they have THE BEST burgers!! It's not a place for a fancy dinner, but perfect for those who want a cozy fun place to hang after a day at Marmot. The lamps are in the shape of snowboards, and there is always sports playing on the TVs (always 1 TV has crazy snowboarders on it). It's a bit dark though. The servers are great, and often invite us to live bands playing that night or the same weekend. I'm craving a burger now..... Oh, and their yam fries are to die for!"

January 2010 — "The Downstream Bar and Grill is fast becoming known for its eclectic dining experience. It's always been a great place to grab a burger and a pint, but recently the Downstream has been branching out: roast duck, venison and kangaroo are just some of the choices available to diners. Don't be fooled by the basement location, this isn't a dank, dusty pub. Smart renovations two years ago have opened up the floor and a European-inspired drink menu make perusing the Downstream's offerings a classy affair. Locals looking to relax know to come down during the week for a less-busy dining experience, as Friday and Saturday nights at the Downstream have become the domain of party-seekers, but even the rowdies can't keep me away from the Samba Sandwich—grilled tofu with an incredible garlic/chili aioli. Quality beer on tap makes sticking to one a tough task, a decent price point makes it even harder. Regularly offering live entertainment, The Downstream is a place you'll find easy to get down to. "
