September 2011 — "I went to the Hose & Hound in Inglewood on a rainy Sunday night for a little snack and a few pints. What a friendly, cozy little place! They have a nice fireplace to sit by and all of the tables are really close and intimate with a really high ceiling, which makes it feel like you are sitting in an inn or a loft. The drinks are pretty pricey though with a pint of Guinness ringing in at $8! I ordered some fries which were really good and generously portioned. I also had a bowl of Wor Wonton soup, which they claim is a meal in itself. It had wontons and vegetables served in a tasty broth. It wasn't too bad for a pub! It was only $5 for the bowl, which I thought was the best deal of anything I ordered. This pub is a great place to hang out if you're in Inglewood. "

September 2010 — "I have visited the Hose & Hound many times over the course of many years, usually for breakfast on the weekends but occasionally for lunch or dinner.
Recently I went for lunch with a couple of friends. I had intended on ordering breakfast, but when we saw the special was broccoli and cheddar soup with a burrito, it sounded too good to pass up. This was an unfortunate mistake. The soup was alright, but not what I was really expecting. I was thinking more along the lines of a cream of broccoli and cheddar soup, but it was sort of a watery soup with big pieces of barely cooked broccoli in it. The burrito... well, let's just say I should know better than to order a burrito at a restaurant that doesn't specialize in Mexican food.
Although this lunch wasn't all that great, I have had plenty of good meals at the Hose & Hound and I still love it and will be back. The fact that it is a pub inside an old fire hall and is located in lovely Inglewood is enough to bring me back again and again."

October 2009 — "I have been to the Hose & Hound on several occasions over the years and have never had a horrible experience. On this particular Friday late-afternoon, my wife and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat. I was craving a burger, so that's what I ordered. It didn't really have anything special about it, but then again, I cleaned my plate. My wife ordered Buffalo wings and I like wings and everything, but I thought they were disgusting. She seemed to like them though. The place was really packed for 4pm on a Friday. There was only one table available on the main floor when we got there, so we had to sit by the VLTs. It was kind of crowded and it was interesting to see how fast people could blow their money, but it wasn't really the ideal place to sit. The service was very friendly and very efficient. I like the Hose & Hound for its atmosphere (an old fire station) and during the summer, the large patio is a nice place to have a few."

July 2009 — "It was the large sunny patio that attracted me and a friend to the Hose and Hound in Inglewood. For this reason I can't comment a great deal on what the interior of this pub looked like, but I can say that if you are looking for a nice spot to sit outside and relax for lunch or dinner and a drink in one of Calgary's trendy neighbour hoods, you need look no further. The Hose and Hound offers plenty of outdoor room, half of which is undercover in the event of a little unexpected rain, and on a Friday night we had no trouble getting a table.
I ordered the grilled chicken burger with cheese and bacon, fries, gravy and a pint of Grasshopper. The service was fast and friendly, and the food while not elaborate was fresh and met my expectations. While the Hose and Hounds menu is one you can find at any neighbourhood pub, it was the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that made my experience most enjoyable and definitely worth my return.

July 2007 — "I have visited the House & Hound for years and have never been disappointed. It's best in the summer time when they have their covered outdoor patio open. Since I usually go for lunch on the weekend, it's not that busy. This past weekend we went and had lunch and were pleased with the very attentive service and the menu selection. I opted for a chicken quesadilla and was glad that the kitchen understands what "quesa" means. It was FULL of cheese! They served it with salsa, sour cream and guacamole and the quesadilla itself seemed like it was baked, not fried...meaning it was not greasy! My husband got the all-day breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely go back next time we're in Inglewood."

September 2006 — "Even though I live in Inglewood, I have never made it down to the hose and hound before now. It’s a shame, really, because I went there for a bite to eat with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The food was a little more expensive than it would be at a comparable place, but it was very good. They have a huge shaded patio, which I never noticed even though I walk by it every day. They also have a sunnier patio in the front. The inside of the pub smelled a bit smoky, but the food, service and patio were all great. "

July 2006 — "I was at the Hose & Hound last weekend with a friend. We both had the lunch special which consisted of a CBLT (Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato) sandwich and Halibut Chowder. Both were very good.
We also went to the bar to play some darts and watch some baseball on TV. Unfortunately, the house darts were in horrible shape and the upstairs TVs were small. Not a huge deal, but enough to make me look for a different spot next time I want to play some pub 'sports' or catch a game on TV."
