April 2012 — "I had never been the south location of Ceili's Irish Pub & Restaurant and was starving around 11:30am on a Saturday, so we decided to stop in for a bite to eat. It wasn't very busy, as it had just opened, which was actually pretty nice. It has a typical Irish pub atmosphere and there are tvs to watch sporting events on. It had a bit of a strange, day-old beer smell in there, but it is likely because they have carpets and the place had been busy with partiers the night before. I decided to get the typical bacon and eggs breakfast, and it definitely did not disappoint since it is a pretty simple meal. My wife got the Southwestern wrap, which I ate half of. I was not a fan at all, perhaps it was the black beans, but both of us felt pretty sick to our stomachs that night. The service was decent and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for, so that was fortunate. With all the pubs around I'm not sure whether I will be back to this Ceili's. "

March 2012 — "Ceilies Is a Authentic Irish pub where St. Patt's Day just never ends! I finally got to experience the fun myself this past St. Patrick's Day. What a riot! The menu is very irish indeed. With a range of different options, but many very very irish traditional dishes. We were with a group and ordered a bunch of different appetizers for the tables. Ribs, wings, nachos, dips, and calamari. We didnt go traditional. The house was packed, but the servers remained calm, and the service was excellent regardless of the lack of servers to keep up. Our server did not mess up, and kept a great composer through out. We had a ton of fun. They even had a few live bands playing you guessed it traditional irish jig music. Everyone was dancing, singing, and having a blast. I heard from some friends, that it is like this on the average weekend. That they are always celebration. In conclusion, the food was great, we had alot of fun, and will most likely be back for another Irish dance! "

Ceili's is part of the Penny Lane Entertainment Group. There are two locations, one downtown on 8th Avenue and the second on Macleod Trail.
