February 2012 — "My wife and I enjoyed one of the pre-set dishes and added in some of the custom rolls. The rolls were creative and tasty and it was some of the best sushi I have had recently. The pricing seemed pretty good for calgary, so no issue there.
The staff was attentive and the scene was bustling with activity. I would certainly go back. Also, having a coupon really helped the over all tone of the evening. "

May 2011 — "Not to be mistaken with the Yamato restaurant that is located downtown Yamato Japanese Restaurant is located in a non-descript mall across from Northland Mall and Winston Churchhill High School in the NW. It is a small family run restaurant that offers quick and inexpensive sushi for those looking for a deal. Most of the staff and sushi chefs are actually Chinese rather than Japanese so it lacks the authenticity of a true Japanese sushi restaurant if that's what you're looking for. However, the sushi here is decent and the price won't put a dent in your wallet. My friend and I shared a table full of food for under $50. Our meal included a plate of fried tofu as an appetizer and a rice bowl with beef, a roll of salmon sushi, and an individual 12 piece sashimi set. The meal also came with miso soup. It's a decent choice in the NW for sushi lovers."

Purchased a coupon from Dealfind on March 22nd; booked a table for March 25th (to use Dealfind coupon); rejected my booking because only 5 coupons (5 different customers) can be used in one day and 5 such customers have already booked the tables.
One IMPORTANT thing: no such restriction is mentioned on the Dealfind coupon! "

August 2010 — "Decent sushi restaurant in the NW. We ordered everything a la carte, as they did not seem to have an assorted plate that met our needs. All in all the sushi quality was good, but we found it pretty expensive. We got it as take out and the timeline they gave was accurate, and the service was quite friendly. I could see visiting again if we were in the area, but this is not our new favourite location for sushi yet. "
