October 2011 — "From the decor to the staff to the food--- simply wonderful! For people, who truly appreciate sushi, this place will be a god send. They have authentic decor. The sashimi pieces are twice as big as other places. Their rolls are delicious. The Rainbow roll has individual pieces of fish, avocado, shrimp, etc on each piece. Unlike other places where they just mush everything together and slightly smudge it on the outside of the rolls. This place is locally owned and the staff is the people, who own it. Overall, it's a great place to take people, who enjoy sushi. I recommend this cozy restaurant!"

April 2010 — "The Furusato has the best sushi and great customer service. Their portions are great for the price and the sushi rivals even that of Vancouver! I constantly suggest the Furusato as the ONLY place to have a great sushi meal! or just a great meal for that matter!"

April 2010 — "This is truly the best japanese resturant in edmonton. I have been to all of the japanese resturants in this city and furusato out does them all. Their portions are sooo generous and so fresh compared to all of the rest. The location is perfect, a small place on whyte avenue which makes for a cozy dining experience. I have tried many things on their menu and all of them were excellent. "

May 2008 — "Best sushi in the city. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and unique, and the price is reasonable. The salmon is thick and fresh, the avacado rolls are tasty and rich, and the beef sashimi is to-die-for. This is my favorite sushi restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone. Go for the food, not the ambiance."

July 2007 — "I'm from Toronto and have eaten sushi in some of the best sushi restaurants in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. I've also eaten in some of the worst. After reading all of the reviews from various websites for Edmonton japanese restaurants, I decided to gamble on Furusato. I was not disappointed. If you want ambiance and sexiness, this is not the place. If you want simplicity and fresh sushi at good prices, this is the place. First, when you visit any sushi restaurant, if it's teaming with asian folks, you know it's good and fresh. When I arrived, 90%+ of the clientele were asian and it was almost full. The staff was courteous and service was good. No complaints whatsoever. I had the beef teriyaki with tempura, $13.95 and 14 pieces of sushi, $13.95 as well. Very good prices and big enough portions. Miso soup was extra but probably one of the best Miso soups I've ever had. Highly recommend you try this place. I know, for certain, the next time I'm in Edmonton and want sushi, this is the place I'll be going to. Not to mention, all the good nightlife and bars are steps away. 82nd Ave (Whyte Rd), between 100st and 101st."

December 2006 — "As a former Vancouverite... sushi has become a staple of my diet. I've tried several places in Edmonton in an attempt to find a comparable restaurant to my favourite sushi joint in Vancouver. Furusato has met my expectations of a high quality Japanese Restaurant (Kyoto comes close) in terms of quality, price, service (seriously lacking in some other Japanese restaurants) and ambiance.
It looks a little hokey from the outside... but don't let that fool you... this place is great.
