"Excellent Prime Rib Bones"

April 2012 — "I had nearly forgotten about Big T’s BBQ and Smokehouse until I saw a recent Dealfind voucher offer. Having remembered enjoying the food here some years back, I thought it was a good opportunity to revisit this establishment. We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon, and the place was quite dead. There was maybe 2 other tables at the time. This meant we were seated quite promptly and the service was efficient. I ordered the full rack of prime rib bones which was on special that day for $24.99, it arrived about 15 minutes later with sides of corn bread, fries and cole slaw. The ribs were quite tasty, with not too much fat on it, but still able to retain a lot of the tenderness and juiciness. After eating 3 of the 5 bones, I had my fill so took the rest home for left over dinner instead. The regular price for this meal is 29.99, it is a little more pricey than I would like. The quality of the meal was good, but I think the price is a little too high. However, it is worth a try and you can be the judge yourself."

"Better Than My Own BBQ"

June 2011 — "Stepping into this place felt like a Southern U.S. State with the twangy country music playing. It was really cool and had a western cowboy theme. I sat at the bar for lunch and ordered the pork bun which came smothered in coleslaw, had a side of brown beans, and I chose the soup on the side which was a spicy tomato beef chilli-like soup called 'burgoo' and was really tasty. They also bring a tin pail of sauces such as sweet mustard, horseradish, and two kinds of bbq sauce. The pork was nicely smoked, juicy and tender. The coleslaw brought it all together for me adding that sweet mayo taste. The service was nice and fast but they weren't that busy so it could be reasonably expected. Being right across from McMahon stadium makes this the perfect pre-game hot spot for the boys or the girls. It'll fill you up and you can wash it all down with a few brown bottles."

"Great place for meat lovers!"

September 2009 — "I’m not the biggest meat eater but I think Big T’s is great. And if you love meat, you HAVE to come here. The food here is consistently good, hot, and fresh. Since I’m not too much of a meat eater, I usually get the Cat Fish Po Boy, which is lightly seasoned fillets of catfish in a bun. But the last time I came here, me and two friends decided to tackle the Big T’s platter, which was $65 worth of meat. This platter comes with a lot of smoked meats, pulled pork, ribs, half a chicken, ribs, sausage, fries, and a bunch of small side items. It was way too much for 3 people but we somehow managed to finish most of it. I would recommend this platter for meat lovers. If you do decide to go with more people, try out the Elvis Platter ($95 worth of meat). This will be our next venture."

"Try the sauces"

May 2009 — "I’m not a fan of squirting sauces on meat after it’s cooked, but Big T’s sauces are actually delicious and do add to the flavour. Last time I was there, I ordered the two-meat plate (bbq chicken and meatloaf) with fries, beans and cornbread at around $15. The chicken was flavourful, and the meatloaf was perfectly seasoned with green peppers throughout the slab. Their mustard was excellent on the chicken and their barbecue sauce did blend well with the meatloaf. The barbecue sauce is terrific by the way, unlike that Bull’s Eye junk most people enjoy. Big T’s sauce has a bit of a sweet taste to it that would taste good on just about any kind and cut of meat. I’ve been in twice and the restaurant has never been packed, which is good, because it’s not a big place, with just a touch of a southern feel. The service has always been prompt and polite. The food is sometimes too much to eat in one sitting (I was forced to take the meatloaf home for later), but that’s a good thing. That much food with that much flavour for that reasonable a price, makes Big T’s worth checking out. Especially if you’re in the mood for authentic slow-cooked, smoked meats. "

"Classic BBQ Cuisine!"

April 2009 — "I have visited Big T's on several occasions over the years, especially when I am craving a hearty, meaty meal. When I go with a group of friends, we usually order one of their large meat platters that come with a bunch of sides. On this particular occasion I chose something different, the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread, coleslaw and beans. The meatloaf was actually very good, the sides were ok too. My wife had the two meat plate and chose the ribs and pulled pork. I tried her ribs and thought they were very good as well. She said that the pulled pork was a little dry, but she still cleaned her plate! The beers were nice and cold and the service was top-notch. My wife said that the bathroom was in poor shape with no paper towel and the toilet paper rolls were just laid on the back of the toilet. We will still go back though."

September 2008 — "If into BBQ meats, I highly recommend Big T's BBQ. I ordered the smoked chicken breast with mashed potatoes. It was so good! The chicken breast was full of flavour. The meals come with beans, coleslaw and yummy cornbread. They have large meals like big meat platters and smaller meals such as the one meat meal I ordered. The service was fast and the staff were friendly."

July 2008 — "Been there twice, loved it. Service was good, atmosphere was good, food was hot and prompt. Take a few friends get some beer and one of the giant platters of meat. Be sure to start off with some Hush Puppies for your appetizer. The platters is soooooo much meat, and mountains of fries. If your looking for a meat fest this is it. I can't wait to go back!"

"For Meat Lovers Only!"

November 2006 — "Big T's is for those searching for a meat feast, so vegetarian's beware!! I've visited this restaurant twice and have not been disapointed. You have to be in the mindset for a big platter of meat, beans, coleslaw and the like in order to enjoy the fare here. Our latest trip to Big T's was last week and we ordered the $50 platter that serves four, I think. It came with half a chicken, a rack of ribs, brisket, smoked meats, sausages, beans, coleslaw and a variety of barbecue sauces. After a while I got kind of sick of eating all the meat, but the two men I was there with ate until they could hardly move. Overall the service was good and the food was exactly how I expected to be... meaty!! I'll definitely go back one day. "

BulletDescription

Everything tastes better barbequed! At least that is the theme at Big T's. Choose pork ribs, chicken, brisket and pork butt, all barbequed until succulent in a one-ton smoker that can cook up to 600 lbs of meat. The technique is based on recipes from the U.S.A.
