November 2010 — "I am not usually one to write a complaint but this was seriously, if not the worst, then close to it, the slowest service, poorest quality food I've had in years. We went with my parents for our anniversary supper and all four meals took over an hour and fifteen minutes to recieve. One was sent back, the others probably should've been. The poor waitress spent alot of time appologizing for the kitchen staff but also forgot things herself."

March 2010 — "During a brief stay at the Days Inn & Suites West Edmonton, I had the chance to eat at the hotel restaurant/bar, ConYac's Bar & Grill. I was surprised at how rich-looking the decor was - it looked like it belonged in a more high-end hotel! Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, I felt very comfortable there. It was a weeknight and fairly quiet and the server was welcoming and happy to offer menu suggestions. She recommended the steak sandwich and that's what I ordered. The steak was done to perfection, medium-rare, and the garlic bread it was served on tasted very fresh and flavourful. I ordered it with a side salad. The lettuce was very fresh with just the right amount of dressing. There weren't many people there, so it was easy to have a conversation with my dinner companion. The draft beer was cold and refreshing, and while they had a hockey game on the big screen television, it wasn't turned up too loud and was merely a bit of easily ignored background noise. Should I ever need to stay in Edmonton again, I would be happy to stay at this hotel and eat at ConYac's."

August 2009 — "This is no ordinary hotel bar & restaurant. Walking into the waiting area from the hotel lobby, you get the feel of a medieval atmosphere from the iron gate, stone walls, and high archways. Straight ahead is the restaurant and on the right is the bar, which has three distinct seating areas: booths around the perimeter, high-top tables and regular tables in the middle, and plenty of bar stools along the long bar. NFL football was being projected onto two large projection screens, one above the bar and the other above a gas fireplace. For a Friday night, this place was quiet. The menu has plenty to choose from, with main dishes ranging from $10 - $30. We chose two large orders of chicken wings and an order of dry ribs. The wings were excellent, though the hot sauce was boring (we were told it was Frank’s Red Hot) so we also ordered the ultimate hot sauce (which was even more boring considering it was Frank’s Red Hot with a few chili flakes added). It also came with a few sticks of celery and carrots with ranch dipping sauce. The “dry” ribs were terrible. We’ve never had dry ribs which were deep fried, but this is how these were prepared. They tasted like the chicken, no doubt because they were cooked in the same oil at the same time. We complained about it and asked to see the menu again so we could double-check the description of the dry ribs. The waitress defended the ribs saying that that was how dry ribs are prepared. Anyway, the menu description never mentioned deep frying, it simply said cooked until golden brown. In the end, the waitress took the ribs off our bill. Everything else about ConYac’s is wonderful and we definitely recommend it. After a long trip, it was very convenient not having to drive anywhere and face the inevitable crazy traffic around the area. We did not visit the restaurant side of ConYac’s but because it’s connected to the bar, we could see it looked very nice."
