December 2007 — "Since the Harvest Room is located in the Farimont Hotel Macdonald it can be expected that it has wonderful atmosphere and ambiance. The restaurant is cozy and warm, and makes you feel like you are dining in a luxurious version of your grandmother's home. Although the atmosphere and decor make this place so lovely, when myself and some family members dined here we did not have a very enjoyable time. This was because the staff of the restaurant were continually opening and closing a door to the outdoor patio when it was at least minus 20 degrees celcius out. (There was a winter wedding photo shoot occurring at the time). Each time the door opened we would tense up and cradle our frozen limbs as we shivered and sipped hot tea. The service was kind of slow, the food was alright and the prices were over the top. If you are going to be freezing anyways, I suggest walking a few blocks around downtown Edmonton and finding another restaurant to dine at. Too expensive and I was hungry in an hour!!"
