June 2011 — "On a recent business trip to Fort McMurray I had the chance to visit Macdonald Island Park which is a entertainment, recreation centre, and golf club all in one. It is like a small resort in the middle of town. The facilities itself was in fact very impressive as there was just about every type of sport recreation activity you could need. On the otherside of the enormous facility is an 18 hole golf course along with a club house called the Fox Den. The restaurant compared to the rest of the facilities and golf course was not nearly as impressive. It looked to be just a shack beside the beautiful golf course. We sat down on the patio for a bite to eat and the menu selections was very small with the usual lounge selections. I went with the roast beef dip sandwich and salad which ended up tasting quite bland. A thumbs up for the facilities but the lounge didn't quite measure up."
