March 2009 — "My husband and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night. We arrived at 5pm so we did not have to wait to get a table. I ordered some chardonnay wine to drink and we ordered mushrooms Neptune as an appetizer to share. Although there were only 6 of them, they were extremely good and were served quite quickly. The waiter also gave us fresh bread to start. The dinner was also served quite quickly, I’m assuming that is because we beat the “Friday night rush”. I had chicken oscar. Although the chicken oscar is not on the menu, they were willing to make it for me. It came with a baked potato. The chicken was good. It was not too dry and the seafood served on top was cooked very well. The potato was also good. I was disappointed that my meal did not come with a vegetable or a side salad. After dinner, we also shared a dessert. We decided on the Crème Brulee. This was quite tasty and seemed to be very fresh. We had no complaints with our waiter. Although the food, atmosphere and service were all good, the food still seems a bit overpriced. "

January 2008 — "The Keg in Lethbridge is always an anticipated visit, it is one of those restaurants where you never seem to have a bad meal and experience is enjoyable. However, all good things have to come to an end. The Keg recently moved to a new location so as happens in Lethbridge with a new restaurant or in this case a new location, the restaurant is very busy for the first few months. As the Keg does not take reservations over busy periods, we tried it on a Monday night. Inside the restaurant has changed a lot from its former home as a fine dining restaurant and the new interior is modern with nice furnishings but the lighting was a bit too dim. The menu was as good as ever and I started off with the Garlic cheese bread which was great but perhaps not needed as you also get fresh baked bread at your table. For my main I went with the grilled top sirloin while my partner chose the prime rib. My medium sirloin was enjoyable but my wife's medium rare prime rib was well done and she could not eat it. Our server was great, she apologized and did not charge us for the prime rib and told us that there had been problems all evening with the prime rib orders. She did offer my wife something else but we decided to share my steak. For dessert I ordered an ice cream desert that sounded great but it was served with what seemed like half a can of whipped cream and it made the dessert too sweet and not enjoyable. The server made a joke that they got carried away in the kitchen with the whipped cream but it spoilt the dessert and after the prime rib mishap, it did not help things. So overall we were disappointed, the server was great in handling the situation, but we left knowing we have had better meals."

One of the best places to get steak in the city, the Keg features a moderately upscale menu. There is also a large lounge area next door to the restaurant with a large bar, pool tables, TVs and more. The Keg, once located on Third Avenue, is now at its new swanky location on Mayor Magrath Drive in the former Sven Ericksen building.
