March 2012 — "I was given a gift certificate to Muse, and it was such a nice treat to have a meal at this restaurant for free. It's an incredibly stylish and sophisticated restaurant, and it's truly one of those fine dining establishments that knows how to get it right. First off, the service is great -- they're very professional, friendly and attentive. While we were deciding what to eat, we were given some stuff to munch on including a delicious truffle popcorn -- it was a really nice touch. The waiter was more than happy to make food and wine recommendations and the food we had was cooked to perfection. We shared some starters and then I had the game hen dish -- it was quite delicious. The dessert was also excellent. The only complaint I had was finding parking, but that's a minor issue and I realized afterwards that there's a large parking garage right across the street. Dining here isn't cheap -- but if you're looking for a nice evening out with delcious food, Muse will no disappoint. "

January 2012 — "I have been to the Muse several times over the years and have always been pleased with the atmosphere, the service and the food. This visit was no different. We were seated in a great table on the lower floor, a booth seat that allows you to have a bit of privacy, but still great for people watching. I started with a butternut squash soup, which was very, very delicious. I then had an foie gras appetizer followed by lamb, which came with vegetables and black olive polenta. Everything was very tasty, although I was not a huge fan of the polenta. The black olive flavour was overpowering and even though I like black olives, it was too much for me. The service was very good throughout our experience. We were going to have the cheese plate for dessert, but for some reason it took a long time and we finished our coffees and cancelled the dessert. I would also like to note that I have severe allergies to shellfish and nuts, and the server and kitchen took a lot in care in making sure my food was safe."

"High accommodating points! "

July 2011 — "For a friends birthday, we went to try out the Muse, which is located in Kensington. We have driven past the restaurant on various occasions and we just didn't ever get the chance to give it a try. After all the articles and recommendations, I think I was really hoping for more, but it wasn't quite as good as I had expected. We each ordered a different dish so that we could do some sharing. I ordered the "Noble Farm" smoked duck breast and braised leg. It was pretty tasty and the smoked aspect of the duck seems to be quite different. Haven't had that before. My friends order of lamb seemed to suit my tastebuds a little more though. I would suggest going and ordering different dishes to share between friends for sure! One of my other friends who has allergies to garlic, onions and chives usually finds it quite difficult to go out to eat and try foods, but Muse was very accommodating to her needs and her fish dish was really good. I give the ability to cater to the customer a high rating. All in all, the food was a bit pricey, but we were very full by the time we reached the bottom of the plate. It's a nice environment to wine and dine and though it may not be my very first choice for dining, I have high hopes to try out their menu at a later date. "

December 2010 — "Cream of cauliflower soup, pickled green apple, curried oil Truffled beef & avocado tartare, smoked tenderloin emincé, Grana Padano cheese cracker Soup was very creamy and smooth with a very distinct cauliflower taste. Truffled beef was very interesting- smooth and small chunks went really well with the avocado especially on the cracker. Crackers were really good, we even asked for more for the tartare. Service was good, friendly and attentive staff. Ambience was very nice and dim. Overall, nice upscale restaurant. "

"Not as good as expected."

April 2010 — "My friend and I decided to celebrate her birthday at Muse as we have read many many good reviews about it. We forgot to call in and order the course meal 24 hours ahead so when we arrived, we had to settle for the smaller 5 course meal. Overall, the meal was very filling, we were basically full halfway through. A few things really surprised us-the food was overly salty and the soup they served us tasted like water. Even the truffle popcorn at the beginning of the meal that every reviewer raved about was very uneven-some popcorn had no seasoning, some were drenched in oil and salt. We talked to the chef after dinner and he actually told us that all the chefs in the kitchen smoke so that decreased their ability to taste the saltiness of the food. As well, salt is used during the cooking process and not just at the end. Overall, the service is great at Muse. The food was not so different and amazing that I was blown away. Some courses were decent and interesting, but most were just nothing to write home about. The next time we go to Muse, it will probably for the special fishes they bring in every so often and not for the course meal."

May 2008 — "We just went to the Muse for our anniversary dinner and were very, very impressed. We requested a quieter table and they gave us a little booth right in the corner upstairs by the bar. Our server was very attentive and informative about the menu items and wine list. I chose to start with the corn and cumin soup, while my wife had the heirloom tomato feta salad. Both were very impressive. For dinner I chose the Mint & Rosemary Marinated Alberta Lamb Striploin and can't even describe how delicious it was. My wife had the Shropshire Crusted AAA Beef Tenderloin and I must say, it was equally delicious. Dessert was another course to celebrate. We decided to share both the creme brulee and the Goat Cheese cheesecake with sea salt & banana ice cream. They were both very delicious. We chose a nice bottle of wine to accompany our meal, but forget what type of Shiraz it was. Overall, the service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great (despite a drunken girl who thought the entire restaurant wanted to hear her ridiculous babble). We will definitely be going back to the Muse. "

August 2007 — "Like the first viewer, I would say the food and beverage (wine list) was excellent. Wonderful presentation and the whole menu was original. For such an expensive meal I would expect the seating plan to be much better. In the section I was in, on the bottom floor, it certainly didn't allow for much privacy and through half her meal, my girlfriend had to witness a couple get a bit too close at their table. For the first half of the meal our waiter was attentive and somewhat friendly. For the second half he hardly spoke a word to us and was a bit abrupt. And no, we were not drunk or disruptive in any way. For a $100+ meal it's definitely not as refined (the waiter asked if "tap water" was ok) as somewhere like La Chaumiere but the food definitely makes it worth going to."

"A True Fine Dining Experience!"

May 2007 — "My husband and I visited the Muse for our anniversary and were thoroughly impressed with the high level of service, the scrumptious food and the contemporary atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a nice table tucked away in a corner so we could have a little privacy. The thing about the Muse that makes it unique is that it has a bunch of little dining rooms on different levels - it's a pretty awesome venue. The thing that impressed me the most though, is that our server was outstanding. He was extremely attentive and informative about the menu and made the experience even more enjoyable. As for the menu, it was filled with delicious choices.. so many in fact, that it was hard to decide what to eat. I settled on the Organic tomato salad with olives and Buffalo Mozza, while my husband got the Potato Leek Soup. We both chose the Beef Sirloin entree, which was accompanied by whipped parsnips and fiddleheads. For dessert, my husband got the bread pudding, which he said was the best he's ever had and my frozen mousse with caramelized bananas was divine. All dishes were finely presented and were very appealing to the eye. Although the Muse is quite expensive, it was so good that I think we'll be back soon. It's definitely a great place for an anniversary. "
