January 2010 — "Before heading to a movie on a Saturday afternoon, we stopped at Woodys Taphouse in Country Hills. It was not really busy at all, so it was easy to get a table. Even though it wasn't busy it took the server a good 5 minutes to greet us, which I found a little bit annoying. When we finally got the menu, I chose to have a quesadilla and my wife had the soft taco wrap. To start we ordered the cheese sliders, as they were on special. The sliders tasted pretty good, I cannot complain at all. The quesadilla was equally good, I devoured it in a few minutes. It didn't come with any sides, so I was still hungry. My wife ate only half of hers, so I devoured her beef taco wrap, which actually came with a couple sides - beans and fries. It was really good. Overall, the experience was pretty good, the only down side was that our server was a bit in the clouds and took her time, but at least we got what we ordered and it tasted good."

April 2009 — "In the middle of last week I got an opportunity to check out this place called Woody’s Taphouse, located just off of Country Hills BLVD in the NW of Calgary. It’s kind of tucked away in the left corner of the commercial strip mall it attaches to. As we walked in I immediately noticed the nice open area concept of the pub, with tones of room in every section and larger than normal floor tiling to really set in that spacious and relaxed atmosphere. They had everything your typical pub setup includes: pool tables, VLT’s, televisions and a patio; however, I liked the fireplace they had located in a quieter part of the room (front right.) I had the Mexi Woodchips; they were grid styled potato chips served with beef, cheese, chives, peppers, sour cream and salsa…. MMMmmm…. They were great! Everything on the menu didn’t seem to be over priced at all, and they have daily specials focusing mostly on drink and appetizers. Overall I was satisfied with the service and food. Also I must say they had the cleanest washrooms out of any pub I’ve ever been in."

April 2009 — "Attended for a Calgary Flames hockey game.
The place was packed full yet the servers managed to scrounge up some extra seats and a table for us. Being a Wednesday, it was wing night at Woodys. The wings were hot and fresh, while a little small for my liking, they were quite delicious and available in many tasty flavours. You cant beat good wings for a twoonie per plate (20 cent a wing). They also have a flames game day special where jugs of Canadian beer was 10.50. Super cheap. They also had Keiths beer on special for the average non game day drink special.
In addition, they had a hockey contest where each table got a puck with a team player number on it, and when your player scored or got in a fight, your table got free tee-shirts, hats, and best of all beer !! Our table got 2 hats and 3 free jugs of beer. All being said, overall very pleasant atmosphere for watching sporting events and a very economical choice for a night out. "

September 2007 — "I had last been to Woody's a few years ago after being told they have some of the best burgers in town. Although I had to agree that both the burgers and prices were great the overly smoky atmosphere was too much for a non-smoker to take. I recently went back after the smoking ban and enjoyed my burger and beer in a smoke-free atmosphere. What a treat! Although Woody's won't win any awards for the their interior decorating, it is a great spot to stop for good food and drink that won't break the bank."

September 2007 — "I quite enjoy heading over to woody's to watch hockey and other sporting events. They always have them running on the big screen which is visible from all over the bar. They also have a bunch of other smaller screens so you are sure to not miss a beat.
I've tried most things on the menu and would highly recommend their burgers or beef dip. The nachos are a little soggy so I don't rank them very high.

Woody's Taphouse offers a seriously good time. Daily food and drink specials, pool tables, excellent music, and karaoke nights are all part the Woody's experience. A younger crowd is drawn to the location on Southland Drive. They get quite busy on weekends.
