October 2011 — "My friends and I stopped by here to watch the Flames game last night and grab a bite while we were at it. The interior looks like it has been fairly recently renovated, and was very nice to hang out in.
I ordered Sam's smoked meat sandwich with fries. Unfortunately the sandwich was very unsatisfactory, it was a bare-bones meal to say the least with a sub-par serving of store-bought smoked meat dumped onto rye bread with absolutely nothing else done to it (yes not even mustard). The fries were beer-battered, which in this case equated to pile of supremely oily and flaccid pieces of potato.
On the bright side the service here was very good. Our server was very welcoming in making sure we knew what the specials were and was easy to get a hold of, which can be a challenge when your in a busy pub on a hockey night.
All told, if I ever come back here I'll probably stay away from any sandwiches and just stick to some wings and beer."

June 2009 — "We decided to ride our bikes down to Kensington to have lunch on a patio and were pleasantly surprised when entering Sam's Bar & Grill. The place was in desperate need of a face lift and it has happened. They have changed the whole feel of the bar and have made it have a contemporary with one long bar on the far wall as soon as you enter. The patio has also been greatly improved and expanded. The furniture was much better too.
I wanted to sit on the patio, so we chose a nice table for people watching. The waiter was very prompt and I was pleased with the menu selections, which included breakfast. I chose to have the chicken melt with fries and it was very good. The fries were delicious!! My wife had the chicken quesadilla and thought it was pretty good.
The entire experience was very good, as the service was top-notch and the new atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back.

"A Typical Pub Experience"Denny
February 2007 — "We had lunch at Sam's yesterday and were impressed with the service. The food was pretty good too, typical pub fare. They had the brunch going on as well, which consisted of eggs, bacon, sausages, tacos, eggs benedict etc, but we were in the mood for a good ole beef dip and burger. Besides the REALLY annoying people sitting at the next table, we had a typical and pleasant pub experience. "
