February 2011 — "We had a friend down from Montreal for the Heritage Classic game so took him to the good 'ole Shamrock. We had Canadiens jerseys on and we never got ambushed or anything and people were quite friendly except for one guy sporting a Canucks jersey who had one too many Crown Royal's but he staggered out of there early. The music is always good and yes it is an older establishment so it does have a strange appeal when you first walk in but a guaranteed good time is always in the books when you go to the Shamrock."

July 2009 — "I was hungry, that's why I ate at the Shamrock Bar, probably against my better judgment. I really have nothing against the bar itself, the food was actually quite good, but it's just the smell that the whole neighborhood has... SICK. It might be the Lilydale factory across the street or the industrial park that surrounds it, but it kind of turned me off.
Being at a bachelor party though I thought it right to try to eat something to soak up the beer. The strange thing about this place is that it had two different menus circulating... and old one and a new one.... I chose to get the appetizer platter, which came with a healthy amount of wings, ribs, veggies and dips and chimichangas all for $14.95! Maybe I was really hungry, but it all tasted pretty good. Especially the Lilydale chicken... at least that's what I imagined the wings being... It would be a convenient arrangement with the plant across the street.
Other items were won ton soup, spring rolls and pork etc, burgers, fries, those types of things. Be forewarned however, if you drink or eat the Shamrock you gotta have cash and pay for every drink etc. everytime you order... no tabs. Kind of shows you what kind of clientele this place attracts on a regular basis... We had a great time though, great band, pretty good food and good service. If you're lookin for a crazy time go to the Shamrock. Oh, and they only have two beers on tap - Traditional and Alberta Genuine Draft."

This place has been around since 1914. Local and international bands usually choose the Shamrock as their venue. The place is terribly conducive to truly rocking out.
