March 2011 — "Years ago, I had a chicken quesadilla at Kensington Pub. It was really good, with lots of chicken and cheese. For that reason I decided to go for another quesadilla. This time, though, I ordered the Beef Quesadilla instead. Again, there was a lot of beef and plenty of cheese. A very hearty meal. I tried a Kokanee Gold as well and it went down great. The layout of the pub is interesting. You can hang out at tables surrounding the bar, or you can go upstairs and have a totally different perspective. You can also access a little patio area from upstairs. As would be expected by the name, the Kensington Pub is fashioned after an English Pub, right down to the brick walls and dark wood tables. So, whether it be for a great brew or a hearty meal, you can't go wrong with the Kensington Pub. Check it out!"

"Always a Great Bet"

March 2011 — "With it's cozy neighbourhood feel, the Kensington Pub always delivers. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. I like the smaller size and old feel English pub, right down to the British Canadian paper to read while waiting for a friend. The menu has the typical fare of a British pub, with a mixture of appetizers from $6 - $9 with Indian flare (such as Samosas with great chutney), a bit of Chinese (such as pork dumplings), Brit pub food (such as Yorkies), typical wings and nachos, and some Canadian poutine thrown in for good measure. Soups and salads are generous in size and range from around $5.50 up to $11; the salads have options to add for a few dollars more (jerk chicken, steak or salmon). I appreciate that gluten free bread can be requested (for an extra couple of dollars). The sandwiches are huge and offer everything for the carnivore and vegetarian alike, and the burgers are hefty and generous as well. I tried the veggie burger for $10.50 with sauteed onions and melted cheese, along with regular fries. The burger was terrific; nice and juicy (sometimes they can be like sawdust!) with lots of toppings. The chips were crisp and tasty and there were lots of them. Definitely check out the pub if you are looking for a lot of food for a reasonable price in a fun and relaxed space."

"Kensington Pub is always great"

December 2009 — "One of my favourite pubs in the area, with lots of space, friendly servers, and great food. The samosas are always wonderful, and a very popular appy. The entrees are just as good; this time I had a veggie quesadilla (great) and my husband had the Jamaican Chicken Sandwich, which he always raves about. One of the best things about the menu is how eclectic it is; sure it's pub food, but it's slightly more inspired than your average beer hall. Always a treat, and pretty reasonable prices, too."

"A Classic Pub Experience"

September 2007 — "The K Pub is my favorite pub in Calgary. The atmosphere is very chilled out (none of that meat market vibe you get at so many joints) and the service is always good. They have a great selection of beers of tap and the food is always good, though not too creative. The patio is unfortunately too small and the bathroom is at the bottom of a perilous flight of stairs, but otherwise there is not much to complain about here."

BulletDescription

Kensington Pub has been a friendly neighbourhood haunt for as long as most can remember. In the traditional pub style, this alehouse is designed with the old-fashioned public house atmosphere in mind. They have three storeys and oak furniture to further add to the old-English vibe.
