December 2010 — "We went to Carriage House Inn, located on MacLeod Trail South for a friends birthday brunch. I guess cause it was a Sunday, it was pretty busy when we went. As the food, well I can say I was quite surprised that for a buffet, the food selection was disappointing. Even the quality wasn't that good. I guess for about $20, that is what you get. The one thing that I felt was worthy of my compliments, was the small but constant refills on our drinks. There was an array of different salads, cheeses, breakfast like foods, which is fine but it lacked flavor. Nothing stood out to be terrible, but on the other side, nothing was special for me to return and give it another whirl. They did have a thai beef salad of some sort that was exceptional for me, but otherwise, it was really just try a little bit of everything and if you want, go again. They did have some roast beef when we went, but it definitely wasn't great. You could get some stuff a la carte, but nothing too complicated. At the end of the meal, we headed towards the dessert table to end off the meal with a happy sweet tooth, but instead, I returned to the table feeling let down. Apparently, their creme brulee is very good, but when we asked for refills on a buffet, they just said once it is done, then that's it. Well, the feeling is mutual. I was there, now it's done. "
