September 2008 — "Snuggled into a cozy booth on a Monday night, three friends and I tucked into an assortment of traditional Thai specialties at this Centre Street restaurant. Rather than limit ourselves by ordering individual dishes, we opted to share so we could experience a variety. Starting with crisp spring rolls, we were pleased with the savory pork and vegetable fillings, along with the tangy sauce. Shortly afterwards, the chicken satay arrived, piping hot. The peanut sauce had just the right amount of zing and with four skewers, it was ideal for sharing. We also dove into a zippy and tender larb salad and the chili-induced afterburn had us reaching for our drinks. The coconut rice was rich and fluffy and perfectly soaked up the yellow chicken curry. The pad sie eh was slightly sweet, and the vegetables, beans, and meat worked in harmony with the flat rice noodles. After gorging on the delicious main courses, we shared an order of deep fried ice cream, much to everyone's delight. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and smothered in a rich coconut sauce. The service was efficient, albeit a touch slow and the classic rock bleating from the overhead speakers didn't really suit the atmosphere. That said, Bankoknoi Thai serves up some tasty and memorable dishes, and I would return with more friends to sample their other menu offerings. "

October 2007 — "My wife is Asian and a VERY good cook and both of us were delighted with our meal. Service was good, price was good, and the food was delicious - we'll be back. It's perhaps the best Thai food we've had in Calgary."
