August 2010 — "I had never been to a Korean BBQ restaurant and had actually avoided these type of restaurants because I have several food allergies that I thought would come into play at this type of restaurant. I'm allergic to all nuts and shellfish. My wife always tells me how great these type of all-you-eat places are, so I finally decided to try it out with a group of friends. It was not as intimidating as I thought it would be. In fact, the waiter ensured me they don't use nuts there and because of the BBQ aspect where you cook your own food right at the table, I had lots of control over what touched my meat. I thought cooking my own food was really fun and made for a lengthy and enjoyable dining experience. I avoided the sushi, for obvious reasons, but I did order lots of beef, chicken and pork to BBQ. I also chowed down on the edamame, both spicy and regular gyoza, the chicken teriyaki and steamed rice. I avoided the tempura because I wasn't sure if they bread the yams and shrimp in the same batter. Everyone else ate sushi, bbq, appys etc and we definitely had a feast. The service was great, they kept taking our orders and also refilled my green tea many, many times. I was more than pleased with my experience at this restaurant. I'm so happy I finally gave it a try and I had absolutely no allergy issues. I found we ate more than enough to justify the $25 all-you-can-eat charge, even without my eating sushi. I will be back again soon!"

"Sushi and Koren BBQ, good combo"

November 2009 — "Sushi BBQ Inn is one of the few if not the only place in Calgary that you can have Korena style BBQ and sushi all you can eat under one roof. Neither the BBQ nor sushi will be the best you've ever had. But for just over $20 per person for all you can eat including salmon and tuna sushimi all you can eat, I think it's the best deal around. Personally I like their BBQ more than the sushi. But it's nice to have a few pieces of sushi while you're waiting for the BBQ meat to be cooked. This place gets really busy and didn't take reservations when we tried calling ahead. The line got quite long and they don't have a big waiting room at all. They're serving is not that great as well mostly due to the booth style seating wood wood paneling separating each booth taller than your head. So it's hard to see or be seen by the servers. Even with the long waits and not so good service, the great deal and pretty good food is worth it. "

"A Sushi & BBQ Feast!"

September 2009 — "I had never been to Sushi BBQ Inn, but had heard both good and semi-bad things about it. We went on a Monday night so it wasn't too busy (I guess it gets a lot busier later on in the week). For just $22/person you can get all-you-can-eat sushi, shashimi, sushi rolls, hot entrees, soup, appetizers and meat for the Korean BBQ. The two of us had a feast! The selection of rolls for all-you-can-eat was impressive and they actually tasted pretty good too (they weren't the best, but they didn't disappoint). Cooking our own meat on the grill in the middle of the table was also fun. The service was excellent, someone was always clearing plates, taking our order etc. I'd recommend the gyoza, the California rolls, the shrimp tempura and the Korean BBQ. I am a pretty small girl and I was a bit worried I wouldn't eat $22 worth, but I think I definitely held my own and if we were in a a la carte restaurant, it would have been much more than that."

"Can you eat your moneys worth? "

September 2009 — "Sushi BBQ Inn is located right across from SAIT. One of the bigger Sushi all you can eat buffets in Calgary that I know of, but requires you to dig a bit deeper for your wallet. Since we went on a Sunday, we made reservations and good thing too because it was a full house! With a 2 hour limit, we left full, but not too much so. There is a good assortment of sushi types, as well as cooked foods, Korean BBQ and desserts. Be warned, your clothes will smell like Korean BBQ! When we arrived, we were also informed that there is a special, not limit on the sashimi, which means you will get your dosage of sushi. It might not be the best quality, but it’s still pretty good. The service is not bad, with waiters all over the place and as long as you send in your order, you will get what you ask for. I would go again, but maybe in a little while. It’s a good choice for a big group of people. "

"LOVE Kinjo, best place in town"

August 2009 — "This is the sushi place I most often visit. The quality and freshness of sushi is incredible, with a recently updated menu that includes some very creative, visual appealing (and surprisingly affordable) rolls. The owner is often found at the restaurant in his tradition Japanese garb, talking to the patrons. Most night include a plate of sushi to begin that is free (4 different samples from new or house special rolls), and a meal always ends (for women and children, anyways) with a free box of Pocky! The chefs at this restaurant are fantastic, and I love their enthusiasm in the fully visible sushi prep area. The sushi prep area is surrounded by a rotating sushi boat. There are booths and bar style seating along the sushi boat, or separate tables. This place fills up fast Thursday to Sunday after 5pm, so reserve a table. They also do takeout!"

September 2007 — "A little rustic, but Sushi BBQ in is by far one of the better sushi places in town. Polite staff with a family owned style and great tasting food with a variety of options to choose from. I recommend Sushi BBQ inn for both lunch (Great 8.00 deal: 18 pieces and pop) or dinner where you can gorge yourself senseless. "
