November 2009 — "I finally went to the Dragon Pearl after a family member insists we pay a visit there! After visiting that restaurant, I cannot believe what I have been missing throughout the years! The ambience and decor was very nice, as they have just completed renovations this year. But when the food comes, it's even better! I had the BEST Ginger Beef and Salt & Pepper Squid in my life! Customer Service was very helpful and friendly, too. Prices are reasonable - what more can you ask for? I will become a repeat customer from now on for sure! Thank you!!!"

March 2008 — "We pre-rodered takeout for a big club event and since I didn't know exactly what everyone's tastes were, I asked the manager to just "surprise us" with some of their specialty dishes. The day came and everything was ready on time and well organized! They even helped me out to my car since there was too much for me to carry.
The food was really really good. But since most of it was stuff that I had never tried before, it's hard to make a comparison. All I know is: everyone during the dinner was complimenting the food, and I was asked several times throughout the night about where the food came from. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend the small place to anyone (who likes Chinese).
Before they got renovations done, they were the little hole in the wall with great food. I haven't been there post renos, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were one of the busiest little holes in town."

July 2007 — "Dragon Pearl, while seriously lacking in the decor department, scores big hits with their food. Basic tables packed quite closely together can make for an uncomfortable environment, but the food more than makes up for it.
A friend of mine now living in Vancouver INSISTS we go to Dragon Pearl whenever he is in town, and for good reason. The sizzling rice alone is worth the trip. I'm not sure how they deep fry sticky rice, but they do, and then cover it in the sauce of your choice. They bring the rice and sauce separately then pour the sauce at the table, resulting in a sizzling, splattery mess. The result though is very tasty.
The regular dishes are typical western chinese, but done with quality ingredients. In the several times I've been to the Dragon Pearl restaurant in Calgary, I have not once been disappointed by the food.
If you're looking for stylish eating environment, go elsewhere. Calgary's tastiest chinese food though is at Dragon Pearl. "

December 2006 — "I have had "Chinese" food in many places around planet earth and none is as good as Dragon Pearl. Everything is always very fresh and made to order. The ginger beef should be considered the example of how it should be made. Once again it seems that the little whole in the wall places can be the among the best. I have been here many times and never have been the slightest bit disappointed. Worthy of your repeat business. "

June 2006 — "This restaurant has great food at very reasonable prices. Our favourites are the almond chicken, salt and pepper squid, almond chicken, fried dumplings and sizzling rice with hot and sour soup. The staff are friendly and the service is prompt. The restaurant has a cute location on 9th Ave, but it's pretty small so it might be a good idea to make a reservation."
