"I don't Crave them Anymore"

April 2012 — "I really wanted to love Crave Cupcakes because I've heard and read how awesome these cupcakes are supposed to be but honestly I thought they were just ok. Not bad, not great, just ok. They are definitely over hyped and maybe that is why I was so let down by them. The cupcakes are beautifully decorated and well presented but the taste just wasn't there. I found the icing to be off putting. It wasn't necessarily too sweet but it has tasted off every time I've had one. It has an overly dairy taste to it. The cake part was better but nothing special. Also, they are way over priced! Over $3 for one cupcake! It is not worth the money. I've been to the Crowfoot location a few times, which is very small and cramped and it would have been nice if they made the ordering area just a little bit bigger. There is always a line-up every time I've been there and everyone is squished together or having to wait outside. Sadly, I will not purchase cupcakes from them again and would not recommend them. "

"A Popular Sweet Trend"

July 2011 — "Crave is known for its delicious and sweet cupcakes..and boy are they sweet! The only ones I can have are the small ones because one small bite of that sweetness is all I can take! The larger ones are too filling and are much too sweet for me. There are number of different selections of cupcakes to choose from including lemon lime, coconut, vanilla and chocolate. The cupcakes are very rich and filling and I sometimes believe that people only buy them for the brand. Are these cupcakes better than others sold at a regular bakery? I'm not so sure. But when people receive a birthday cake or cupcake from Crave, they get really excited! I believe it's a popular trend right now to buy Crave baked goods for your family and friends. Sure, the cakes look very presentable and some TLC were definitely put in to the making of them. But For me, they seem a little overpriced, a little too sweet and a little overdone. "

"Great Cupcakes!"

May 2011 — "I absolutely love this cupcake shop! The service is always fast and friendly, and the shop is very clean. Most of the time they have all flavors in stock, and they also have a "flavor of the month" cupcake. The cupcakes are baked fresh everyday, but you can buy extra and store them in the fridge - that's what I like to do. I usually get the chocolate with chocolate icing, but the strawberry icing is good too. The chocolate cake is much better that the vanilla in my opinion. The icing is quite rich and abundant - be ready for a really sweet little piece of cake!"

"Delicious but Pricey"

August 2010 — "I have been given many Crave cupcakes at work and decided to venture to the store one day to see their prices and selection. The store was very busy and had a long line up. They had options of regular size cup cakes and miniature ones that seemed like a good idea to buy a pack to take to a party. They have a creative list of flavors to choose from and nearly all of the cupcakes are topped with a heaping amount of buttery and sugary icing. Two of my favorites are the coconut chocolate and the peanut butter chocolate cupcakes. These desserts really are a treat but do taste so rich in sugar that I can't have more than one without feeling sick. The cupcake itself is moist and fresh and then there is a very large amount of icing on top so I am not sure which part makes the cupcake so tasty. Overall, I do find these cupcakes to be way to pricey for what you get but it is nice to treat yourself on a rare occasion."

"Very sweet cupcakes"

January 2010 — "Walking down Kensington, I often saw many people walking around with Crave bags with cupcakes inside. Wanting to see what the hype was all about, we decided to stop in and check the place out. As others have said, this place is crazy busy. The line up is ridiculous just like the prices. The only thing worse than the prices is that it’s not worth it in my opinion. Again, personal opinion which it seems goes against the norm but these things are waaay too sweet! I ordered a strawberry cupcake and my boyfriend had the peanut butter cupcake. It was sickly sweet, I really was tempted to scrape some of the icing off but couldn’t bear to considering how much I paid. Unfortunately, for me, all the hype was just that, hype. I’m sure I’ll eat these again the next time these show up at a party but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again. "

"Amazing cupcakes"

April 2008 — "As a first time customer I walked by the store while it was lined up outside so joined the line to see what the buzz was all about. Once inside I paid close attention to how the ordering worked and asked people behind me questions who were regulars. Very unnerving for a first timer but well worth the stress. The staff is too busy for any customer service but the product is amazing. I went during a weekday at about 11 am and already things were selling out. Expensive but sooo worth it for a special treat. The red velvet was like the real thing!"

"It's the icing!"

September 2007 — "Crave is all about cupcakes. I'm convinced that the reason people love this place so much is the icing. All of their cupcakes are topped with a generous layer of luscious, rich, buttery and sinfully smooth buttercream icing. I love the names of the flavour combos, for example Dirty Blonde, a vanilla cupcake topped with chocolate icing. My favourite is the Crave-o-Licious, a chocolate cupcake with a blue coloured vanilla icing and topped with chocolate sprinkles. I have also ordered birthday cakes from here, which come in the same flavours as the cupcakes. They also sell cookies but I haven't tried them-yet. Crave is very pricey so be prepared to pay $15 for 1/2 dozen cupcakes. The store in Kensington is always packed so go early or be prepared to wait in line. Warning: For chocoholics and those with a sweet tooth, the aromas omitting from that store are very tempting and can cause a sensory overload! "
