February 2012 — "Tandoori Hut in Trendy Kensington is a local favorite. They have been in business for over 10 years and have an amazing reputation for traditional inspired Indian dishes. Such as Butter Chicken, Beef Masala, A variety of different curries, and much much more. I frequent the buffet as it is just too good to pass up and when you get that craving for Indian food, not much else compares. I first went to Tandoori hut on a hot tip from a friend and have been going ever since. The restaurant itself is very fancy within. Decorated beautifully throughout with a exotic aroma like no other. The lunch or dinner buffet is $12 per person and if well worth every penny. I have never ordered off the menu here. We enjoyed a full buffet with all our favorite items. Seating is rush, and bacially seat yourself. Although it does get rather busy on the weekend so if you are planning a group trip I would recommend a reservation. Dessert was splendid, with Rice pudding, honey pastry balls and a sweet carrot salad that was simply divine. Try it for yourself and discover a Indian treat that will intrigue your senses. "

"Best Butter Chicken!"

February 2012 — "Tandoori hut in Kensington Calgary, close to Downtown is one of the best East Indian Restaurants I have ever been to in my life. The food is always good, and they never push older food in their full buffet or off of the menu. My favorite dish is the butter chicken which is always available for their lunch or Dinner buffet. For $12 a person you can buy into the buffet and it is all you can eat. Our server seated up quickly, and we took a nice table near the window and close to the buffet. He pretty much let us chose where we wanted to sit. Elegantly decorated throughout, with beautiful traditional Boli music playing while you eat. Tandoori hut has been in business for many years, and it is no wonder why. The food is very good. I have been to some places where the butter chicken is over done and the sauce is not very good. But they use only the best quality ingredients and the result is a tender chicken with a creamy sweet butter sauce. The buffet is full of many items to chose from including mouth watering desserts such as honey balls. If you enjoy Indian food, or just want to try it for the first time I would recommend Tandoori hut to you as it doesnt get any better than this! "

"Tandori Hut"

September 2011 — "Ive been to quite a few different Indian restaurants and buffets with my wife. She showed me the way with butter chicken one of the best dishes Indian food has to offer. And one of our faves. One day we had a undeniable craving for Indian. So we decided to try something new. We had never tried Tandoori Hut, a place that we've passed by many times before but had never eaten at before. Upon entry I was greeted kindly, and seated casually. I ordered lamb vindaloo with basmati and a side of kulcha bread, I had never seen this on any other menu and love lamb. The lamb was tender and very good. The sauce rich and spicy although different from a curry. It came with potatoes cooked to perfection and great with the sauce. My wife had the butter chicken as it if one of her faves as well. We were dissapointed they didn't have a buffet, because it is nice to try a bit of everything. They have it only on weekends. Lunch and dinner. We had Chai Tea and Rice pudding for dessert. Both leaving us ready for a nap. Chai was hot and spicy, pudding was just the way I like it. Would go again and would say one of the best in Calgary for sure! "

"Lunch buffet has really gone downhill"

February 2010 — "Tandoori Hut has been one of my top choices for Indian food for a really long time so I recommended it to a friend and we decided to check out the lunch buffet. We arrived just before noon so that we could beat the rush. The food was god awful. Everything was luke warm to cold and even aside from temperature, it didn't taste very good at all. I felt really bad recommending this place. We decided to wait until the servers brought out fresh food again before grabbing a second plate to see if the food could somehow get better. It didn't. It was still luke warm and awful. The texture of the chicken was horrible too. As a long time customer of Tandoori Hut, I would definitely not recommend or go back for the lunch buffet even though it used to be fine. I may give the dinner service another try before writing it off completely."

"Top choice for Indian food!"

September 2009 — "Tandoori Hut is probably one of my favorite Indian restaurants because the food is always good. The restaurant offers lunch buffet and regular menu service during dinner time. What I love about this restaurant is that the buffet is ‘better’ than ordering off the menu at most other Indian restaurants so I always find myself coming back. The buffet is always fresh and tasty but their dinner menu is even better. They have a wide selection of dishes and they come out on top these little metal trays that have lighted tea light candles beneath that keep the food warm. The service is generally good and the atmosphere is really nice and laid back. I usually come with a friend and we tend to stay for a long time just enjoying the food and chatting. I highly recommend this restaurant for a good quick lunch or a nice evening out!"

"Consistently Serving Quality Food"

September 2009 — "The Tandoori Hut has been a staple in the Kensington area for years. The restaurant itself is fairly small and cozy and I enjoyed the rather subdued lighting. One of the younger servers was very friendly and even when I forgot to give my entertainment coupon until after the bill came, he was all smiles! I have found it rewarding in the past to have the server decide what dishes we should try and we tried that strategy on this occasion. The two chicken and one vegetable dish complimented each other very nicely. (And made a great omelet the next morning.) The three platters were kept warm on a little flaming table warmer. I also enjoyed the Jasmine tea, and three of us shared the appetizer platter ($12) and it did not disappoint. In fact, I have never been disappointed by anything served at the Tandoori Hut and I have been going there for many years. Check it out and enjoy! "

August 2009 — "AUgust 6 - 2009 We went there to celebrate my friends birthday. They had jus closed down for reno and opened again. The low lights and elegant decor really pleased the eyes. We were served by 2 waiters and it was really confusing cause one of them had a twin working with him as well. we orderred mutton bhuna, mutton vindaloo ( no potatoes I wonder why ), chicken coconut curry, prawn coconut, prawn korma. rice portions were really small. Nanns were good but not too much to brag about. I loved the food overall even though it was a bit pricey. what dissapointed me was the dessert. I ordered Rasmalai ( a milky sweet ) for 5 $ they offeren a teespoon full of milk and a small pience of rasmalai. This was a total rip off. We had to send handsignals and coughs to get the attention of waiters. short staffed on a busy thursday night. billed for 140/5 people - a bit too pricey considering the small portions"

"Best Indian food ever!"

April 2009 — "My husband treated me to this restaurant and it was unforgettable! The buffet was extremely nice and I enjoyed every bite of my food. The service was ok, but you know its a buffet, they only come to when they have too. The decor was very interesting and pleasant, they place was clean and lovely.I would strongly recommend this place to curry fans out there. The price was a bit expensive in my opinion, because i have been to cheaper ones before. But overall it was worth it! "

"Above and Beyond Customer Appreciation"

March 2009 — "I have been going to Tandoori Hut for quite some time and was always happy with the quick and consistent service that I received. The food is also good, well portioned, and well priced. In March, I published my first fiction novel and had a book launch gathering for about 50 people. I expected a 10 or 20 percent discount on the order, however, Tandoori Hut graciously provided Indian appetizers and sauces and sweets that were delicious to cover for the launch party -- at absolutely no cost. I was thrilled that they acknowledged my accomplishment and supported it. And more so, I was impressed that they appreciated my business over the years and went above and beyond in celebrating a customer's success! So next time, if you are looking for a great Indian restaurant to dine at in Kensington, look up my favourite -- Tandoori Hut."

August 2007 — "I have been going to Tandoori Hut for a long time and have never been disappointed. It's located in the trendy kensington district and a short drive from downtown. The lunch buffet is on par with any other Indian lunch buffet in Calgary, regardless of price. Not too mention it's better than most of the ones that are pricier. The food is always good, if you don't like it, let them know and they will bring you something fresh. The staff is courteous and well-mannered and provide the right amount of service. If you enjoy good food, atmosphere, at a reasonable price, I highly recommend this restaurant. I have recommended this restaurant to numerous people over the years, from all walks of life, everyone has loved it and put it on their personal list of great indian restaurants. Try it, you won't be disappointed!"
